Raleigh Hills is a census-designated place and neighborhood in Washington County, Oregon within the metropolitan area of Portland, Oregon, United States. It is located in the southwest hills in Washington County, Oregon, Washington County, with Beaverton, Oregon, Beaverton to the west, West Slope, Oregon, West Slope to the north, and Progress, Oregon, Progress and Garden Home, Oregon, Garden Home to the south. As of the United States 2000 Census, 2000 census, the census-designated place had a total population of 5,865. Raleigh Hills is located at the intersection of Oregon Routes Oregon Route 10, 10 and Oregon Route 210, 210. Fire protection and EMS services are provided through Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. Raleigh Hills is also the location of the first ever New Seasons Market. History Raleigh Hills was named after Raleigh Robinson, a resident of the neighborhood. A census-designated place (CDP) is a concentration of population defined by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes only. CDPs have been used in each decennial census since 1980 as the counterparts of incorporated places, such as self-governing cities, towns, and villages, for the purposes of gathering and correlating statistical data. CDPs are populated areas that generally include one officially designated but currently unincorporated community, for which the CDP is named, plus surrounding inhabited countryside of varying dimensions and, occasionally, other, smaller unincorporated communities as well. CDPs include small rural communities, edge cities, colonias located along the Mexico–United States border, and unincorporated resort and retirement communities and their environs.
