Raleigh-Durham Triangles
From 1968–1971, the Durham Bulls baseball team played as the Raleigh-Durham Mets for the 1968 season, played as the Raleigh-Durham Phillies for the 1969 season, and played as the Raleigh-Durham Triangles for the 1970 and 1971 seasons. The team remained in the Carolina League. The team played at both Durham Athletic Park which was located in Durham, North Carolina, and at Devereaux Meadow which is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Durham Bulls were renamed because the team itself acquired the nearby Carolina League rival Raleigh baseball team and the Raleigh team merged into the Bulls. The merge happened after the 1967 season. Durham Bulls
The Durham Bulls are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. They are located in Durham, North Carolina, and play their home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, which opened in 1995. Established as the Durham Tobacconists in the North Carolina League in 1902, the team subsequently disbanded and restarted numerous times. After a 10-year hiatus, it was reestablished as the Durham Bulls and played in the North Carolina State League from 1913 to 1917. The Bulls were members of the Piedmont League from 1920 to 1933 and for a second time from 1936 to 1943. Durham competed in the Carolina League from 1945 to 1971. Peter Pavlick, Jr. (January 16, 1926 in Bayonne, New Jersey, USA – September 5, 1990) was a minor league baseball manager who is notable for leading the Georgia State League's Sandersville Giants to a co-league championship in 1955. He also played in the minor league for 15 seasons. Pavlick managed in the New York Giants system from 1955 and 1957, where he managed the Sandersville Giants (1955–1956) and the St. Cloud Rox (1957), and in the New York Mets system from 1965 to 1969, where he managed the Marion Mets (1965), Greenville Mets (1966), Winter Haven Mets (1967), Raleigh-Durham Mets (1968) and Memphis Blues (1969).
