Bharamgouda Alagouda Kage or Raju Kage is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is Currently serving as member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing Kagwad. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Kagwad 4 times consecutively before getting defeated by Shrimant Patil twice in 2018 Assembly election and 2019 by-election. Education He completed BSc graduation from R.L.S. College, Belagavi affiliated with Karnatak University, Dharwad in 1980. Karnataka Legislative Assembly
The Karnataka Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of the Indian state of Karnataka. Karnataka is one of the six states in India where the state legislature is bicameral, comprising two houses. The two houses are the ''Vidhan Sabha'' (lower house) and the ''Vidhan Parishad'' (upper house). The members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected by people through adult franchise. 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election was held on 5 May 2013 to elect members from 223 constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. Five major political parties contested the election: Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)), B. S. Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) and B. Sriramulu's Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress (BSRCP). Though Karnataka has 224 assembly constituencies, elections were held only for 223 seats. The election for the Piriyapatna constituency was postponed to 28 May 2013 due to the death of the BJP candidate for the seat. The voter turnout in the state was 70.23%. The INC under the leadership of Siddaramaiah won the election with an absolute majority of 122 seats (including the Piriyapatna seat), 9 more than the majority mark of 113. 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election took place in three phases on 10, 16 and 22 May 2008 in all the 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka, India. The elections were conducted to elect a Government in the state of Karnataka for the next five years. The votes were counted on 25 May and due to the use of electronic voting machines, all the results were out by the afternoon itself. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious winning 110 seats. 1999 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election
The 1999 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election took place in October 1999 in 224 constituencies in Karnataka, India. The elections were conducted to elect the government in the state of Karnataka for the next five years. The Indian National Congress secured a huge majority winning 132 seats. The National Democratic Alliance composed of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) faction was a distant second winning only 63 seats. Gram Panchayat () is a basic village-governing institute in Indian villages. It is a democratic structure at the grass-roots level in India.
