History Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering commenced its educational program in 2001 with three branches viz; ECE, CSE and It on a vast expanse of 30 acres of land in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu with the approval from AICTE and affiliation from Anna University, Chennai. Sriperumbudur
Sriperumbudur is a town panchayat in the Kanchipuram district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 40 kilometers southwest of the capital city of Chennai on the National Highway 4 (India)(old numbering), National Highway 4 and is just outside the Chennai Metropolitan Area and part of the Chennai suburban area. Anna University is a public state university located in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Chennai. It was originally established on 4 September 1978 and was named after C. N. Annadurai, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
