Rajender Singh Sangwan
Rajender Singh Sangwan (born 24 August 1958) is an Indian biochemist, professor and agriculture biotechnologist. He is the Director and Vice-Chancellor of Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India. He was the founder CEO of Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), Mohali. He was also the former executive director of National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali. Known for his contributions to the field of food and agricultural biotechnology, he is an elected fellow of Indian National Science Academy (INSA), National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS). Early life Sangwan was born on 24 August 1958 at Badal village in Haryana, India. He graduated in B.Sc. (Chemistry, Botany and Zoology) at Kurukshetra University in 1979. Academy Of Scientific And Innovative Research
The Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) is an Indian institute of national importance, headquartered at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Human Resource Development Centre Campus, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The institute was established for the purpose of granting doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. The establishment of the academy allowed for a centralised institution to manage this research and was enabled by legislation of the Lok Sabha in 2010. Indian National Science Academy
The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) is a national academy in New Delhi for Indian scientists in all branches of science and technology. In August 2019, Dr. Chandrima Shaha was appointed as the president of Indian National Science Academy, becoming the first woman to head the INSA (for 2020–22). In 2015 INSA has constituted a junior wing for young scientists in the country named Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) in line with other national young academies.
