Raja Babu (actor)
Punyamurthula Appalaraju (20 October 1937 – 07 February 1983), better known by his stage name Raja Babu, was an Indian actor and comedian known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is noted as one of the finest Telugu comedians. A 9 ft bronze statue of Rajababu was unveiled in his birthplace of Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh in 2012. Early life Raja Babu was born in Rajamundry, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh to Punyamurthula Umamaheswara Rao and Ramanamma as Appala Raju. His brothers are also noted comedians, Chitti Babu and Ananth Babu. He completed his Intermediate (10+2) education and successfully completed Teacher Training Course. Rajamundry
Rajahmundry, officially known as Rajamahendravaram, is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and District headquarters of East Godavari district. It is the sixth most populated city in the state. During British rule, the District of Rajahmundry was created in the Madras Presidency in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and bifurcated into the Godavari and Krishna districts. Rajahmundry was the headquarters of Godavari district, which was further bifurcated into East Godavari and West Godavari districts in 1925. ''Paramanandayya Sishyula Katha'' () is a 1966 Indian Telugu-language swashbuckler film directed by C. Pullayya. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, K. R. Vijaya with music composed by Ghantasala. It is produced by Thota Subba Rao under the Sridevi Productions banner. The film was earlier made in Telugu in 1950 as ''Paramanandayya Sishyulu'' starring N. T. Rama Rao and K. R. ''Navaratri'' () is a 1966 Telugu-language drama film, produced by A. V. Subba Rao under the Prasad Art Pictures banner and directed by T. Rama Rao. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri, with music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao. The film is a remake of the Tamil film with the same title (1964), and has Savitri reprising her role. ''Bobbili Yuddham'' () is a 1964 Indian Telugu-language war film, based on the Battle of Bobbili between Bobbili and Vizianagaram kingdoms in 1757. The film was produced and directed by C. Seetaram. ''Chitti Tammudu'' is a 1962 Telugu drama film directed by K. B. Tilak. The film is based on the 1838 English novel ''Oliver Twist'' by Charles Dickens. The plot The story is about the problems faced by children in orphanages, irregularities by the management and the related consequences. Ramu (Jaggayya) and Subhadra (Devika) love one other. Ramu urgently leaves to Kashmir, and returns home to find that his beloved Subhadra is pregnant, and that her father had died of that insult. She delivers a boy in a mission hospital and dies. Plot The film begins in the court of Brahma where Mahabhisha (Prabhakar Reddy) and Ganga (Anuradha) are attracted to each other and Brahma curses them to be born as mortals.
