Raimon Carrasco
Raimon Carrasco Azemar (17 February 1924 – 20 March 2022) was a Spanish businessman who served as president of FC Barcelona. Biography Carrasco was born in Barcelona, Restoration (Spain), Spain, son of Manuel Carrasco Formiguera and wife María del Pilar Azemar i Puig de la Bellacasa, and brother of politician Rosa Maria Carrasco i Azemar. He graduated from IESE Business School and started in the business world as director of Agricultural Industries Company, vice president of the Banco Industrial de Catalunya (BIC) and Sinorgan chemical company, and once he was Financial Advisor of FECSA, the Constructura Ribas and Pradell Chasyr and health insurer. He was one of the architects of the modernization of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation in 1966. Ramon Pelegero Sanchis, who takes the stage name of Raimon (), is a Spanish singer. He performs in the musical style of Nova Cançó, and in the Catalan language. Biography Youth Raimon was born in Xàtiva in the province of Valencia, Spain on December 2, 1940, at ''el carrer Blanc'' (White Street), which he references in some songs. In his youth he worked for several years as a radio broadcaster in his hometown, absorbing the music of artists as diverse as Juliette Gréco, The Platters, and Juanito Valderrama. At age 21, he moved to Valencia in order to study history. It was there that he discovered Catalan culture, and read writers such as Ausiàs March, Salvador Espriu, Josep Pla, and Joan Fuster, among others. Institut Guttmann is a neurorehabilitation hospital, which was opened on 27 November 1965 in Barcelona. It was the first hospital in Spain dedicated to the rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injuries, introducing some of the techniques developed by Ludwig Guttmann a few years earlier into the country. Its first medical director was Dr. Miguel Sarrias Domingo, who was a student both of Josep Trueta in Oxford and Ludwig Guttmann in Stoke Mandeville. It has been situated in Badalona since 2002, and is a reference hospital for medical-surgical treatment and rehabilitation of people affected by spinal cord injuries as well as people with brain damage and other disabilities with a neurological origin.
