Raideen
is a super robot anime series. Produced by Tohokushinsha, Asahi News Agency and Soeisha (later renamed as Sunrise), it aired on Nihon Educational Television (now TV Asahi) from 4 April 1975 to 26 March 1976, with a total of 50 episodes. The official name being ''Raideen the Brave'', it is mainly known as "Brave Raideen" or "Heroic Raydeen". A series called was broadcast from 1996 to 1997 on TV Tokyo, and another series called ''Reideen'' was broadcast in 2007 on WOWOW. Story After a slumber of twelve millennia, the Demon Empire awakens to seize control of the Earth. Raideen, the giant robot-like protector of the lost continent of Mu, senses the evil presence and awakens within its golden pyramid. A young Japanese boy, Akira Hibiki, is alerted about the Demon Empire by a mysterious voice and rushes to the pyramid. Yoshiyuki Tomino
is a Japanese mecha anime creator, animator, director, screenwriter, songwriter and novelist best known for creating the ''Gundam'' anime franchise. He was born in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, and studied at Nihon University's College of Art. Career & Legacy Tomino began his career in 1963 with Osamu Tezuka's company, Mushi Productions, scripting the storyboards and screenplay of the first Japanese anime television series, '' Tetsuwan Atomu'' (also known as ''Astro Boy''). Tadao Nagahama
__notoc__ Tadao Nagahama (長浜 忠夫 ''Nagahama Tadao''; September 26, 1936 – January 14, 1980) was a Japanese director of both puppet shows and animation. He is best known as the director of Sunrise and Toei Company's Robot Romance Trilogy, which added human drama to the Super Robot Genre. Nagahama also directed several hit anime series that are still well known among Japanese viewers. Masaki Tsuji
is a Japanese anime screenwriter, mystery writer, manga author, travel critic, essayist, professor as well as mystery fiction novels writer. Tsuji was most active in the business from the 1960s through the 1980s, and worked as a script writer on many popular anime television series for Mushi Production, Toei Animation, and Tokyo Movie Shinsha. He is well known for his association with the animated adaptations of the works of Osamu Tezuka and Go Nagai. In April 2007, Tsuji headed Japan's first international anime research lab as part of Digital Hollywood University. On December 4, 2007, Tsuji was given a lifetime achievement award at the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival. ''Reideen'' (stylized as ''REIDEEN'') is a Japanese animated television series remake of the 1975 Super Robot anime ''Brave Raideen''. It was produced by Production I.G and directed by Mitsuru Hongo. Which was originally broadcast on the satellite network Wowow in 2007. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for North American release.
