Rahman Baba
Abdur Rahmān Momand ( ps, عبدالرحمان بابا; 1632–1706) or Rahmān Bābā ( ps, رحمان بابا), was a renowned Pashtun Sufi Dervish and poet from Momand Agency in Peshawar during the Mughal era. He, along with his contemporary Khushal Khan Khattak, is considered to be one of the most popular poets among the ethnic Pashtuns. His poetry expresses the mystical side of Islam, in line with his Sufi-oriented nature. Rahman's lineage Rahman Baba was a Momand sub-tribe of the Ghoryakhel Pashtuns. Common Era

Ameer Hamza Shinwari
Ameer Hamza ( ps, امیرحمزه), commonly known as Hamza Baba (), was a prominent Pashto-language poet. His books are taught on master levels in University of Peshawar. At least 5 scholars did their PH.D research thesis on him. He is considered a bridge between classic pashto literature and modern literature. He founded khyber School of thought in Pashto literature. Most notable poets of this school of thought like Nazir Shinwari, Khatir Afridi, Khyber Afridi were his pupils. Early life Shinwari was born in Landi Kotal, Khyber district, as the fifth son of Brameer Khan. In 1915, he enrolled in a primary school. When the teacher asked him to write the Urdu alphabet he instead displayed his artistic abilities and drew a human figure. Khushal Khan Khattak
Khošāl Khān Khaṭak (1613 – 25 February 1689; Pashto: خوشال خان خټک), also known as Khushal Baba ( ps, خوشال بابا), was a Pashtun poet, chief, and warrior. Khushal Khan served the Mughal Empire protecting them from Pashtun warriors over most of his lifespan. After being expelled from his tribal chiefdom and replaced with his son by his Mughal superiors, Khushal Khan turned against the Mughals. Afterwards, Khushal preached the union of all Pashtuns, and encouraged revolt against the Mughal Empire, promoting Pashtun nationalism in the last years of his life through poetry.
