Ragnvald Winjum
Ragnvald Terum Winjum (17 May 1917 – 4 January 1965) was a Norwegian jurist and politician for the Liberal Party. A cand.jur. by education (1949), Winjum settled down in Aurland in 1953, working as a farmer and attorney. In 1960 he became the mayor of Aurland municipality. In 1963 Winjum became the first to hold the post of county mayor (''fylkesordfører'') of Sogn og Fjordane. However, because of illness problems, he had to leave the post for then-deputy county mayor Nils Helgheim Nils Helgheim (14 June 1903 – 1 October 1982) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. Aurland
Aurland () is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located on the south side of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The administrative center is the village of Aurlandsvangen. Other villages include Bakka, Flåm, Undredal, and Gudvangen. The municipality is the 60th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Aurland is the 293rd most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,766. The municipality's population density is and its population has increased by 3.2% over the previous 10-year period. Nils Helgheim
Nils Helgheim (14 June 1903 – 1 October 1982) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Sogn og Fjordane during the terms 1954–1957 and 1958–1961. On the local level, he was a member of Jølster municipality council from 1933 to 1967, serving as mayor from 1952. In 1963 Helgheim became deputy county mayor (''fylkesvaraordfører'') of Sogn og Fjordane. In 1964, when illness struck the county mayor Ragnvald Terum Winjum, Helgheim moved up and assumed the post. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Sogn Og Fjordane
Sogn og Fjordane (; English: "Sogn and Fjordane") was, up to 1 January 2020, a county in western Norway, when it was merged to become part of Vestland county. Bordering previous counties Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, Buskerud, and Hordaland, the county administration was in the village of Hermansverk in Leikanger municipality. The largest town in the county was Førde. Although Sogn og Fjordane has some industry, predominantly hydroelectricity and aluminium, it is predominantly an agricultural area.
