University Of Chittagong
The University of Chittagong ( bn, চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, caṭṭagram bishwabidyalay) is a public research university with multidisciplinary faculties situated across a 1754-acres hilly landmass in Fatehpur Union of Hathazari Upazila, north of Chittagong city of Bangladesh. This university has the largest campus among Bangladeshi universities. The academic activities of the university formally began on 18 November 1966. It has about 27,500 students and more than 900 faculty members. Alamgir Muhammad Serajuddin
Alamgir Muhammad Serajuddin is a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong. In 2017, he was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in the education category. Early life and education Serajuddin was born on 1 December 1937 to a Bengali Muslim family in Kanchana, Satkania, Chittagong District. In 1959, he graduated from Dhaka University with a first class honours Master of Arts in History. He gained his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of London in 1964. In 1967, Serajuddin became a qualified barrister-at-Law from the Lincoln's Inn of London. Career Serajuddin returned to Chittagong in the Seventies, where he served as a faculty member of the Department of History at the University of Chittagong. Abdul Mannan (educator)
Abdul Mannan is a Bangladeshi educator. He served as the 12th chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh during 2015–2019 and the vice-chancellor of the University of Chittagong during 1996–2001. Education and career Mannan earned his master's in Management from the University of Dhaka in 1972. He completed his graduate and post-graduate studies from the University of Hawaii and the Miami University in 1978. Mannan started his career when he joined the Department of Management of the University of Chittagong as a lecturer in 1973. He conducted advanced research on international commerce in Ohio State University in 1989. In 1996, Mannan became the youngest vice-chancellor of the country when was appointed at the University of Chittagong. In 2005, Mannan took an early retirement from the University of Chittagong.
