Rafael Rodríguez Barrera
Rafael Rodríguez Barrera (February 1, 1937 – December 3, 2011) was a Mexican politician, lawyer and ambassador. He held office as the Governor of the Mexican state of Campeche from 1973 until 1979. Rodríguez also served as the President of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) from 1992 to 1993. Rodríguez Barrera began his career as a lawyer. He became Mayor, also called Municipal President, of Campeche, Campeche. Rodríguez Barrera was elected Governor of Campeche, holding the state's gubernatorial office from September 16, 1973, until September 15, 1979. Mexican President Miguel de la Madrid appointed Rodríguez Barrera as Secretary of Agrarian Reform. in 1986. Rafael Rodríguez Mercado is a Puerto Rican neurosurgeon and military officer. He was the Secretary of Health of Puerto Rico from 2017 until his resignation in 2020. Rodríguez Mercado previously served as chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. Early life and education Rodríguez Mercado was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He graduated from High School at Colegio San Conrado. 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the fifth edition of the Gold Cup, the soccer championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), and the 15th overall CONCACAF tournament. It was held in Los Angeles, Miami, and San Diego in the United States. The format of the tournament changed from 1998; it was expanded to twelve teams, split into four groups of three. The top two teams in each group would advance to the quarter-finals. Peru and Colombia were invited from CONMEBOL, and the Republic of Korea were invited from AFC. With all three games in Group D ending in ties and Canada tied with the Republic of Korea on every tiebreaker, a coin toss was used. Canada won and advanced to the quarter-finals.
