Rafael Quiñones Vidal
Rafael Quiñones Vidal (November 13, 1892 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico – March 7, 1988) was a journalist and a radio and television Master of Ceremonies. He studied at the Lincoln School in Caguas, Puerto Rico until eighth grade. He pursued a career as a graduate teacher, taking private lessons with Ana Roque de Duprey, in Humacao. For four years he worked as a rural teacher. He had an accounting school in Caguas. He obtained the title of Venerable Master of the Masonic Lodge "Union and Amparo" of Caguas, and was named Doctor Honoris Causa in Humanities of the Catholic University of Ponce. He founded a chapter of the Masonic Lodge of the Order "Star of the East, Union and Faith". Quiñones Vidal is acknowledged as the first Puerto Rican communicator to promote young singers through his radio and television singing competition show called, ''Tribuna del Arte'' (The Art Rostrum). Caguas, Puerto Rico
Caguas (, ) is a city and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the Central Mountain Range of Puerto Rico, south of San Juan and Trujillo Alto, west of Gurabo and San Lorenzo, and east of Aguas Buenas, Cidra, and Cayey. Caguas was founded in 1775. The municipality had a population of 127,244 at the 2020 census. Caguas is located from San Juan. Yolanda Rosa Monge Betancourt (born September 16, 1955), known professionally as Yolandita Monge, is a Puerto Rican singer, actress, and television personality. She has been active in the music business since her teen years and has recorded 27 studio albums and two live albums, as well as several greatest hits compilations and special appearance recordings. Lucecita Benítez
Luz Esther Benítez Rosado (born July 22, 1942), also known as Lucecita, is a Puerto Rican singer, part of the country's new wave popular music. Born in Bayamon, a large city in Puerto Rico, she participated in amateur radio shows. Benítez's most important career step came in 1969, when she won the ''Festival de la Cancion Latina'' (''Festival of the Latin Song'') in Mexico. She participated with two songs, "Génesis" by G.V. Lloveras and "Energía de mis manos", by M. de Jesús. "Genesis" received the highest points (223) in the festival and Lucecita also won as best dressed performer. Pedro Rivera Toledo's arrangement of Genesis also won as the best arrangement, although the orchestra was conducted by Jose S. Marroquin. Carmen Delia Dipini
Carmen Delia Dipiní (November 18, 1927 – August 4, 1998), was a Puerto Rican singer of boleros. In 2002, Carmen Delia Dipiní was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame. Early years Dipiní was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico to Justo Dipiní Castro and Concepción Piñero Medina. Dipiní often entertained her family and friends as a child with her singing. She attended the Eugenio Brac Elementary School where one of the teachers, Mrs. Brenes, realized that Dipiní was talented as a singer and encouraged the 7-year-old student to become a singer. In 1941, when she was 14 years old, Dipiní went with her parents to San Juan with the intention of participating in a radio talent show.
