Rafael Nascimento
Rafael da Silva Nascimento (born 21 May 1984), is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Oman Club in Oman First Division League. Club career Olaria Nascimento began his professional footballing career in Brazil with his parent club Olaria Atlético Clube, based in his hometown, Rio de Janeiro. After spending a two-year spell in the youth teams of the club, he got promoted to the first team in 2001 and player there for the next 2 years. Vasco da Gama In 2003, Nascimento signed a long-term contract with another Rio de Janeiro-based and Brazilian top club, CR Vasco da Gama. Bahia In 2008, Nascimento moved on loan from Vasco da Gama on a six-month deal to Salvador, Bahia-based Esporte Clube Bahia. He scored his only goal for the club on 16 August 2008 in a Campeonato Brasileiro Série B match against Sociedade Esportiva do Gama. In 2009, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, the second level of the Brazilian League, was contested by 20 clubs from May 8 to November 29, 2009. Top four teams in the table would eventually qualify to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A to be contested in 2010, meanwhile the bottom four would be relegated to Série C next season. Three former Brazilian champions played in this edition. Vasco da Gama was relegated for the first time in history, meanwhile Bahia and Guarani came back from Série C in 2007 and 2008, respectively. This Campeonato Carioca was the 109th edition of football of FFERJ (Federação de Futebol do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, or Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation). It started play on January 24, 2009 and ended on May 3, 2009. Sixteen teams contested this edition. América and Cardoso Moreira, relegated the previous year, were replaced by Bangu and Tigres, respectively winners and runners-up of the lower level championship in 2008.
