Radosław Babica
Radosław Babica (Born 18 July 1979) is Polish professional pool player from Kielce, who reached number 12 in the World Pool-Billiard Association world rankings in 2009. Career Babica final reached the European Pool Championships final of the 9-Ball event in 2007. He later also reached the final in the 10-Ball event and three more semi-final appearances at European Championships (one each in the 8-Ball, 9-ball and 14/1 endless). On the Euro Tour his best result so far was a second place - scored by the Costa del Sol Open 2007 held in Malaga. Babica is five-time champion of Poland in singles and also a four time national team champion. His best result so far in a world championship was reaching the quarter-finals at the 2005 WPA World Eight-ball Championship. The World Cup of Pool is an annual international single-elimination tournament for doubles teams in nine-ball pool competition. The event has been dominated by the Philippines and China, with both nations winning the event on three occasions. History The tournament is held annually, at various locations, and was first held in 2006 in Newport, Wales. The tournament is hosted by Matchroom Pool. Format There are usually 32 participating teams, representing 31 nations (the host nation is represented by two teams, A and B) composed of two players each. The participating nations do not have to go through a qualifying tournament in order to join, as they are selected by the organizers.
