Radnor Valley Football Club is a Welsh football team based in New Radnor, Presteigne. The team currently play in the Mid Wales Football League East Division, which is at the fourth tier of the Welsh football league system. History The original version of the club was formed in 1921. The current incarnation of the club dates from 1984. New Radnor
New Radnor ( cy, Maesyfed) is a village in Powys, Wales, to the south of Radnor Forest, and was the county town of Radnorshire. In the 2001 census, the community's population of 410 was split evenly between male and female, in 192 households. The population at the 2011 Census was 409. The community includes the village of Llanfihangel Nant Melan. Medieval planned layout The village lies by the Radnor Forest and has been said to have been built to replace Old Radnor. Presteigne
Presteigne (; cy, Llanandras: the church of St. Andrew) is a town and community in Radnorshire, Powys, Wales on the south bank of the River Lugg. Formerly the county town of the historic county of Radnorshire, the town has, in common with several other towns close to the Wales-England border, assumed the motto, "''Gateway to Wales''". The border wraps around three sides of the town (north, east and south). Nearby towns are Kington, Herefordshire to the south and Knighton to the north, and surrounding villages include Norton (within the community) and Stapleton. While most Welsh clubs play in the Welsh pyramid and most clubs in that pyramid are Welsh, five Welsh clubs play in England, and four English clubs play in Wales. Mid Wales South League
The Mid Wales South League is an association football league, currently consisting of five clubs, mainly from Mid Wales but some from just over the border in England. It is currently called the ''Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South)'' for sponsorship reasons. The founder members of the league were Brecon St John's, Felindre, Llandrindod Wells, Llanwrthwl, Llanwrtyd, Presteigne St. Andrew's, Rhayader Town and Whitton. Felindre were the first league champions. The league lies in the fifth level of the Welsh football league system. Teams may be promoted to the Mid Wales Football League if standards and facilities fall into line with the regulations of the Mid Wales League.
