Radivoj Božić
Radivoj Božić (; 26 January 1912 – 1948) was a Yugoslavian international footballer. After finishing his football career he became a military pilot in the Royal Yugoslav Air Force and during the Second World War for the Yugoslav Partisans. Career Born in Beška, Austro-Hungarian Empire (nowadays in Serbia), he started playing in SK Jugoslavija in 1930. Beška
Beška () is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in the region of Syrmia (Syrmia District), in Inđija municipality. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and a population numbering 6,239 people (2002 census). History and Archeology Roman tombs with rich decorative paintings dating back to the third or the fourth century were discovered in Beška. It was first mentioned in 1564. During Ottoman rule (16th-17th century) the village of Beška was populated by Serbs. During Habsburg rule, ethnic Germans settled there. Following World War II in Yugoslavia, the German population fled the village, while new inhabitants mostly from Croatia settled in the village in place of the Germans. The archeological site of Kalakača includes findings of Early Bosut culture with traits of Gava culture dating to the 9th century BC. 1934–35 Balkan Cup
The 1934–35 Balkan Cup was the fifth Balkan Cup football tournament. The national teams of Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania took part and it was won by Yugoslavia. The host of the tournament was Greece and they lost the trophy on the final day on January 1, defeated to Bulgaria by 1–2 as previously on the day Yugoslavia had thrashed Romania by 4–0. This was the first Balkan Cup for Yugoslavia. The Balkan Cup was an international association football competition contested on and off from 1929 to 1980 by countries from the Balkans region. The most successful team was Romania with four titles. Overview The first edition featured Romania, Greece, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and was played over three years from 1929 to 1931. All teams played each other twice, home and away, and were awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, with final ranking table determining the winner. Romania won the first title with a game in hand after beating Yugoslavia 4–2. In the following tournaments the system saw significant changes, with teams playing each other only once, and instead of taking three years to complete it was shortened to just a single week. From 1932 to 1936 the competition was played every year with the same four teams until the outbreak of World War II.
