FM Broadcasting
FM broadcasting is a method of radio broadcasting using frequency modulation (FM). Invented in 1933 by American engineer Edwin Armstrong, wide-band FM is used worldwide to provide high fidelity sound over broadcast radio. FM broadcasting is capable of higher fidelity—that is, more accurate reproduction of the original program sound—than other broadcasting technologies, such as AM broadcasting. It is also less susceptible to common forms of interference, reducing static and popping sounds often heard on AM. Therefore, FM is used for most broadcasts of music or general audio (in the audio spectrum). FM radio stations use the very high frequency range of radio frequencies. Radio Station "Belarus"
Radio Belarus ( Belarusian: ''Радыё "Беларусь"'') was the official international broadcasting station of Belarus. The station has ceased broadcasting on shortwave and mediumwave as of 1 April 2016. History Radio Belarus has broadcast on the international shortwave bands since 11 May 1962. Originally the programs were broadcast in Belarusian. In 1985, broadcasting in German was launched, and in 1998 they began broadcasting Russian and English versions. Since 2006 the radio has started broadcasting in Polish, while 2010 saw the launch of French and Spanish language programming. The station used to offer 16 hours of radio content in 7 languages and 10 hours of real-time online English programming daily. Alpha Radio (Belarus)
Alpha Radio (formerly 103.2 Alpha Radio), Alpha 103.2, 103.2 Alpha FM, Alpha Radio) was an Independent Local Radio station based in Darlington, County Durham, England. History When launched in 1995, Alpha was owned by Radio Investments Ltd while First Radio Sales In 2009, Alpha was joined by neighbouring station Minster Northallerton to share the studio complex in a cost-cutting exercise. To make further savings, both Alpha and Minster Northallerton, along with Durham FM were rebranded as Star Radio North East which meant all three stations lost their heritage names and, until recently, only produced a daily breakfast show. Compass FM
Compass FM was an Independent Local Radio station serving Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham. Last owned by Bauer Radio, the station broadcast from 2001 to 2020, when it was subsumed by Greatest Hits Radio, as part of its Yorkshire region. Licence application Threapplicationswere received by the Radio Authority by 5 September 2000, which also included the proposed Haven FM and Southbank FM, having been firsadvertisedin May 2000.
