Radio Dunedin
Radio Dunedin is a radio station, broadcasting from Dunedin, New Zealand on 95.4 FM, 1305 AM, in the central city on 106.7 FM, and online. The station was launched in late 1922, becoming the first radio station in New Zealand, and according to the station's website is the fifth oldest station in the world (five weeks older than the BBC). Radio Dunedin is part of MediaWorks Radio, which operates several other stations including The Breeze (New Zealand radio station). MediaWorks runs the station from 6am and 6pm on weekdays. Air time is leased outside these hours by the Otago Radio Association, which is made up of volunteer presenters. The station is aimed primarily at the 50+ age bracket, with a community focus, local news, and playing music primarily from the 1960s to 1980s. It is rated number three for share of commercial radio listening in Dunedin in the Radio Audience Measurement Survey. The Breeze is a New Zealand radio station playing an adult contemporary music format owned by MediaWorks New Zealand, playing a variety of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and also current hits. The Breeze network broadcasts in 21 markets throughout New Zealand, with each station presenting a mixture of local and network programming. Radio Otago
Radio Otago was a radio company that operated a group of local radio stations in radio markets around New Zealand from the 1970s to the late 1990s. Radio Otago was started in 1971 when Dunedin station 4XO was started, 4XO was originally branded as Radio Otago 4XO. During the 1980s and 1990s Radio Otago expanded their operations by starting up stations around Otago and the rest of New Zealand, and also by purchasing existing stations. The company sold its seven North Island stations in 1997 to Energy Enterprises and funds from the sale were used to purchase C93 FM Limited allowing Radio Otago to compete in the Christchurch market. Oamaru
Oamaru (; mi, Te Oha-a-Maru) is the largest town in North Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand, it is the main town in the Waitaki District. Lite FM was a New Zealand radio station broadcasting in Christchurch on 94.5FM. The station was first started in 1997 by Radio Otago in Dunedin on 90.2 FM, the programme was also networked to Invercargill on 98.0 FM. The Sound, earlier known as Solid Gold FM, is a New Zealand radio network owned by MediaWorks New Zealand. Solid Gold began broadcasting on 13 October 1997 and was rebranded as The Sound on 1 January 2012. Magic is a New Zealand oldies radio network owned by MediaWorks New Zealand. The network targets New Zealand's growing population of baby boomers with a line-up of veteran broadcasters. Its breakfast show, Magic Breakfast (formerly Magic in the Morning), is hosted by long-time radio personality, Mark Bunting.
