Radio (Ky-Mani Marley Album)
''Radio'' is the fifth solo studio album by Jamaican reggae musician Ky-Mani Marley. It was released on September 25, 2007 through AAO Music and Vox Music Group. Recording sessions took place at Lions Den, The Hit Factory and Circle House in Miami, at Right Track Studio and SMT Studio in New York, and at Vox Studio. Production was handled by Jason "J-Vibe" Farmer, Alex "Lex" Francis, Ky Miller, BlackOut, Corey Chase, DannyBoyStyles, Larry "Kalid" Chu, Mark Sparks and Red Spyda, with Ky-Mani serving as executive producer. It features guest appearances from Louie Rankin, Gail Gotti, Maintain, Mýa, Tessanne Chin and Young Buck. The album did not reach the ''Billboard'' 200, however, it peaked at No. 38 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, No. 19 on the Top Rap Albums, No. 27 on the Heatseekers Albums, and topped the Reggae Albums charts in the United States. Ky-Mani Marley
Ky-Mani Marley (born 26 February 1976) is a Jamaican singer and musician. His name is of East African origin, and means "Adventurous Traveler". He is the only child of Bob Marley with Anita Belnavis, a Jamaican table tennis champion. In 2001, he received a Grammy Award nomination for his album, '' Many More Roads''. Early life and family Ky-Mani Marley was born in Falmouth, Jamaica, to Anita Belnavis, a Jamaican table tennis champion; and reggae superstar Bob Marley. At the age of nine, Ky-Mani and Belnavis relocated to Miami, Florida. In his early youth, Ky-Mani was unaware of his musical abilities, sports being his first love. Louie Rankin
Leonard Ford (b. 1953 – 30 September 2019), known professionally as Louie Rankin, was a Jamaican dancehall reggae artist and actor. Life and career Leonard Ford was born in Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica and grew up in Rockfort and East Kingston. His most successful song was the single "Typewriter", released in 1992. In his lyrics, Rankin often referred to himself as the "Original Don Dada," a term used by many of his dancehall competitors, such as Super Cat. Rankin also performed notable acting roles as a Jamaican "gangsta", in the movies ''Shottas'' and ''Belly''. He lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was considered "the real Jamaican Don Dada". Chris Gehringer
Chris Gehringer (born May 27, 1962) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered recordings such as Gwen Stefani's '' Love. Angel. Music. Baby.'' (2004), Rihanna's '' Loud'' (2010), Lady Gaga's '' Born This Way'' (2011) and Drake's '' Take Care'' (2011). Biography Gehringer was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and raised in Bergen County. After graduating from Pascack Hills High School in Montvale, New Jersey, he attended the Institute of Audio Research. His first job in the industry was at Greene Street Recording and from there, he went on to work as a cutting assistant at Trutone Records. In 1985, Gehringer joined Tom Coyne and Herbie Powers at Frankford-Wayne Mastering and mastered primarily Dance music, dance and Contemporary R&B, R&B records throughout the 1980s. The ''Billboard'' charts tabulate the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in the United States and elsewhere. The results are published in ''Billboard'' magazine. ''Billboard'' biz, the online extension of the ''Billboard'' charts, provides additional weekly charts, as well as year-end charts. The two most important charts are the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for songs and ''Billboard'' 200 for albums, and other charts may be dedicated to a specific genre such as R&B, country, or rock, or they may cover all genres. Top Heatseekers are "Breaking and Entering" music charts issued weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The Heatseekers Albums and the Heatseekers Songs charts were introduced by ''Billboard'' in 1991 with the purpose of highlighting the sales by new and developing musical recording artists. Albums and songs appearing on Top Heatseekers may also concurrently appear on the ''Billboard'' 200 or ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Albums chart The Heatseekers Albums chart contains 25 positions that are ranked by Nielsen SoundScan sales data, and charts album titles from "new or developing acts" as determined by the acts' historical chart performance. The ''Billboard'' 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States. It is published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine and is frequently used to convey the popularity of an artist or groups of artists.
