Radharc Films
Radharc Films, also known as the Radharc Trust, is an Irish charity which oversees the film archive of the ''Radharc'' series of documentary programs. The organisation is based in Blackrock in Dublin, Ireland. The archive, overseen by the trust, includes a collection of over 400 topical and religious documentaries spanning over 30 years. History Radharc was Ireland's first independent television production company, filming their first television documentary in 1961. Primarily run by Catholic priests, the film company produced a religious programme, titled ''Radharc'', which was broadcast on RTÉ Television for 35 years. The company made programmes until the death of founder Fr Joe Dunn in 1996. From 1997, the focus of the Radharc Trust changed from producing new programming to a "mandate to preserve and promote both the substance of the programmes and the values they championed". Blackrock, Dublin
Blackrock () is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland, northwest of Dún Laoghaire. Location and access Blackrock covers a large but not precisely defined area, rising from sea level on the coast to at White's Cross on the N11 national primary road. Blackrock is bordered by Booterstown, Mount Merrion, Stillorgan, Foxrock, Deansgrange and Monkstown. Transport Blackrock has a station on the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) line, which is 15 minutes away by train from the city centre. The DART runs on the same track that was built in 1834 for the Dublin and Kingstown Railway. The Charities Regulator ( ga, An Rialálaí Carthanas) is the operational name of the Charities Regulatory Authority, the statutory authority responsible for the regulation of charities in Ireland. The organisation is made up of a board, with four sub-committees, and as of 2019, a staff of 38, including a chief executive. Irish Film Institute
The Irish Film Institute (IFI; ), formerly the Irish Film Centre, is both an arthouse cinema and a national body that supports Irish film heritage. The IFI presents film festivals, retrospectives and curated seasons, along with independent, Irish and foreign language films overlooked by commercial multiplexes at its cinemas in the Temple Bar quarter of Dublin. It maintains an archive of Irish films and provides education in film culture. The IFI increases the range of films available to Irish audiences. The 10th Irish Film & Television Awards took place on Saturday 9 February 2013 at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) honouring Irish film and television released in 2012. It was hosted by Irish actor Simon Delaney and attracted an audience of 1.24 million viewers. The Show was broadcast on RTÉ One Television on the night.
