Stanley Richardson, known professionally as Stan Richards (8 December 1930 – 11 February 2005), was an English television actor, best known for his portrayal of Seth Armstrong in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. Career He played the role of Seth Armstrong from May 1978 until his death of emphysema in 2005, having been originally "signed" to the series for a run of just 4 weeks. Archibald Seth Armstrong is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, '' Emmerdale'', played by Stan Richards from 1978 until 2004. The role of Seth began as a temporary "bit part" and he due to appear for just a few episodes, but proved so popular that further appearances were made until Seth became a full-time regular character in the summer of 1980. Alan Turner (Emmerdale)
Alan Turner is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, ''Emmerdale'', played by Richard Thorp. He debuted on-screen on 23 March 1982. Thorp died on 22 May 2013 and the last scenes that Thorp filmed as Alan were aired on 4 June 2013 in a special hour-long episode dedicated to him. It was announced on 12 September 2013 that Alan would be killed off-screen in late October with his daughter Steph ( Lorraine Chase) returning for his funeral. Brian Ian Francis "Biff" Fowler is a fictional character from the British television soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Stuart Wade from 1994 until 1999. Wade reprised his role as Biff in 2005 in a one-off appearance for Seth Armstrong's ( Stan Richards) funeral. Development Three weeks after starting drama college, Wade was cast as Biff. John Jacob "Jack" Sugden is a Character (arts), fictional character from the Television in the United Kingdom, British ITV (TV network), ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. The character was originally played by Andrew Burt from 1972 to 1973 with a brief return in 1976, when the actor left for Italy to write a book. On his return in 1980 he was played by Clive Hornby. Hornby remained in the role until 2008 when he was forced to take a break from Emmerdale due to illness. Robert Sugden (also Sugden-Dingle) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''.
