Rachel Berman
Rachel Berman (raised as Susan King; 1946-May 28, 2014) was an American-born Canadian painter and children's book illustrator, who lived and worked in Canada, the United States, and Ireland. Her paintings have been likened to the poems of Leonard Cohen, the plays of Harold Pinter,Betty Ann Jordan, Toronto Life Magazine, September 2003 and "a season's worth of Masterpiece Theatre episodes." The mysterious figures and hidden stories glimpsed in her paintings are a reflection of the mysteries Berman has unravelled in her own life. Once known as Susan King, she discovered her original birth name, birth date, and the names of her biological parents when she was 52. This experience led her to reclaim her long-lost name. Berman was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and lived in Victoria, British Columbia. James Timothy Hunt (born April 1, 1959) is an American- Canadian author and journalist. He has also written children's books under the pen name Tim Beiser. Biography Hunt was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and attended university in Montana, receiving a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration from Rocky Mountain College in 1981. He became a Canadian citizen in 2004, and resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Grignan, France, with his husband, Morton Beiser and twin sons, Daniel and Rowan.
