Rachael Taylor (academic)
Rachael Waring Taylor (born 1971) is a New Zealand childhood nutrition academic. She is currently a full professor at the University of Otago. Academic career After a 2001 PhD titled ''Body composition in children and adolescents : a DXA based study'' at the University of Otago, Taylor worked at Otago, rising to full professor in 2016. Much of Taylor's research is related to infant and childhood obesity and has frequently made the news. In 2022, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. The ''Otago Daily Times'' (ODT) is a newspaper published by Allied Press Ltd in Dunedin, New Zealand. The ''ODT'' is one of the country's four main daily newspapers, serving the southern South Island with a circulation of around 26,000 and a combined print and digital annual audience of 304,000. An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece.
