Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize
The Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize is a literary honour in India conferred annually to published works of Indian authors (residing in India or abroad) in novel, short stories, poetry and drama, originally written in any of Indian official languages and dialects, but translated to English. It was founded in 2018 by US-based independent and non-profit publishing house Maitreya Publishing Foundation (MPF) as a platform for world peace, literature, art, education and human rights. The winners receive USD 10,000 as the prize money along with a Rabindranath Tagore statuette while the shortlisted authors each receive USD 500. The 2019 Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize in literature was awarded to Rana Dasgupta for the literary novel “Solo’’. Raj Kamal Jha
Raj Kamal Jha (born 1966) is an Indian newspaper editor and novelist writing in English. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of ''The Indian Express''. He has written five novels that have been translated into more than 12 languages. His journalism and fiction have won national and international awards, including the Commonwealth Writers Prize; Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize; Tata Literature Live! Yōhei Sasakawa
is chairman of The Nippon Foundation, the World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy Elimination, and Japan's Ambassador for the Human Rights of People Affected by leprosy. His global fight against leprosy and its accompanying stigma and social discrimination is an issue to which he has remained highly committed for more than 40 years. Kailash Satyarthi
Kailash Satyarthi (born 11 January 1954) is an Indian social reformer who campaigned against child labor in India and advocated the universal right to education. In 2014, he was the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Malala Yousafzai, "for their struggle against the suppression of children and ''young'' people and for the right of all children to education." Jerry Pinto
Jerry Pinto (born 1966) is a Mumbai-based Indian English poet, novelist, short story writer, translator, as well as journalist. Pinto's works include '' Helen: The Life and Times of an H-Bomb'' (2006), which won the Best Book on Cinema Award at the 54th National Film Awards, ''Surviving Women'' (2000) and ''Asylum and Other Poems'' (2003). Nirmala Govindarajan is an Indian novelist and journalist. Her novel ''Taboo'' (2019) was shortlisted for the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize and was longlisted for the Atta Galatta Bangalore Literature Festival Book Prize in 2020. Gun Island (novel)
Gun Island is one of the larger islands in the Pelsaert Group of the Houtman Abrolhos, in the Indian Ocean off the west coast of Australia. It is nominally at , about north and east of Half Moon Reef and is a flat limestone outcrop of about in size. Jeet Thayil (born 1959) is an Indian poet, novelist, librettist and musician. Neel Mukherjee, FRSL (born 1970) is an Indian English-language writer based in London. He is the author of several critically acclaimed novels. He is also the brother of famous television anchor and editor Udayan Mukherjee. Jayanta Mahapatra (born 22 October 1928) is an Indian English poet. He is the first Indian poet to win a Sahitya Akademi award for English poetry.
