Ra'anan Alexandrowicz ( he, רענן אלכסנדרוביץ', born August 29, 1969, Jerusalem, Israel) is a director, screenwriter and editor. He is known for the documentary ''The Law in These Parts'' (2011), for which received the Grand Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival, a Peabody award, and numerous other prizes. His earlier documentaries, ''The Inner Tour'' (2001) and ''Martin'' (1999), were shown in the Berlin Film Festival's Forum section and MoMA's New Directors / New Films series. Alexandrowicz's single fiction feature, '' James' Journey to Jerusalem'' (2003), premiered in Cannes Directors' Fortnight and at the Toronto International Film Festival and received several international awards. Ra'anan Cohen
Ra'anan Cohen ( he, רענן כהן, born 28 February 1941) is a former Israeli politician who served as a government minister during the early 2000s. Biography Born in Baghdad in Iraq, Cohen made aliyah in 1951. During his youth he was a counsellor in the HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed youth movement, and was secretary of the Labor Party youth guard in Bnei Brak until 1970. He took Middle Eastern studies at Tel Aviv University, gaining a BA, MA and PhD in the subject. He served as chairman of Labor Party's Arab and Druze branch between 1975 and 1986. Between 1986 and 1992, he chaired the party's elections branch. In 1988, he was elected to the Knesset on the Alignment's list. He was re-elected in 1992 (by which time the Alignment had merged into the Labor Party), and 1996. In December 1997, he was elected secretary-general of the party, winning 76% of the vote.

Raanan Evelyn Zvi Gillon FRCP (born April 1941) is emeritus professor of medical ethics at Imperial College London, and past president of the BMA. Ra'anan Levy ( he, רענן לוי; 1 March 1954 – 2 June 2022) was a French-Israeli artist. Biography Born into a Syrian Jewish family, Levy's grandfather worked as a newspaper manager in Damascus. Following the Yom Kippur War, Levy was released from his military service. From 1975 to 1979, he was enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and subsequently the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. At the same time, he was also enrolled in the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence. From 1980 to 1982, he studied history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and from 1982 to 1984 was a resident of the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten. Ra'anan Naim ( he, רענן נעים, 31 December 1935 – 7 September 2009) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Alignment from 1981 to 1984. Biography Born in Benghazi in Libya in 1935, Naim made aliyah to Israel in 1949. He attended the Hebrew school established by the Jewish Brigade, as well as the Ben Shemen Agricultural School and Beit Berl. Yoav Ra'anan (; born 15 January 1928) is an Israeli former Olympic diver. He was born in Cairo, Egypt. Diving career Ra'anan competed for Israel at the 1952 Summer Olympics, at the age of 24, in Helsinki, coming in 9th in Men's Springboard and 24th in Men's Platform. It was Israel's first appearance in the Olympic Games. He won a gold medal in high diving at the 1953 Maccabiah Games. Ra'anan participated for Israel at the 1954 Asian Games in Manila, Philippines, in diving, winning the gold medal in 3 m springboard and the silver medal in 10 m platform. He competed again for Israel at the 1956 Summer Olympics, at the age of 28, in Melbourne, coming in 22nd in Men's Springboard.
