Ra'Shad James (born January 26, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for St. Thomas Aquinas, Iona and Northwood Seahawks. Early career After playing high school basketball at White Plains High School, in White Plains, New York, James played two seasons at St. Thomas Aquinas before transferring to Iona for his junior season. He finished his college career at Northwood (Florida) University. Professional career Reno Bighorns (2013–2015) James went undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft. He played his first two professional seasons with Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. NABC Player Of The Year
The NABC Player of the Year is an award given annually by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) to recognize the top player in men's college basketball. The award has been given since the 1974–75 season to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I basketball players. Birmingham Squadron
The Birmingham Squadron are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League based in Birmingham, Alabama, and are affiliated with the New Orleans Pelicans. The team plays their home games at Legacy Arena. 2021–22 NBA G League Season
The 2021–22 NBA G League season is the 21st season of the NBA G League, the official minor league basketball organization owned by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The prior season, the league played a shortened season with 18 teams and all games were held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Bay Lake, Florida, in similar to the 2020 NBA Bubble due to the ongoing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021–22 season consists of the Showcase Cup from November 5 to December 22 with all 30 teams participating.
