The R66 is a provincial route in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa that connects Gingindlovu with Pongola via Eshowe, Melmoth and Ulundi. It starts and ends at a junction with the N2. Route The R66 begins in Pongola, at a junction with the N2 national route. It begins by going southwards for 19 kilometres, crossing the Pongola River, to reach a junction with the R69 route near a place named Magudu. The R69 joins the R66 and they are one road southwards for 2 kilometres before the R69 becomes its own road westwards while the R66 remains as the southerly road. The R66 continues southwards for 40 kilometres, passing by the Mkuze Game Reserve (where it crosses the Mkuze River), crossing the Nkunzane River, to reach a T-junction with the R618 route at Nhlopenkulu. The R66 joins the R618 and they form one road south-east into the town of Nongoma before splitting adjacent to the Nongoma Police Station, where the R66 becomes its own road southwards. The R102 is a Regional Route in South Africa. It is the route designation for all old sections of the N2, thus it is a discontinuous road that resumes in areas where a new N2 has been constructed. Route Western Cape and Eastern Cape In the Cape Town area, the R102 starts in the Central Business District and runs through Woodstock, Maitland, Goodwood and Parow before it reaches Bellville. From Bellville, it turns in a southeasterly direction and goes on the outskirts of the city through Kuils River, Eerste River and onwards to Somerset West where it merges with the existing N2. At Mossel Bay it divides to the east again, passing through all the towns between there and George. The R68 is a provincial route in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa that connects Melmoth with Dundee. Route The R68 begins at an intersection with the N11 national route 40 kilometres south of Newcastle and 55 kilometres north of Ladysmith. The R68 goes eastwards for 23 kilometres to the town of Dundee, where it meets the R33 route. At the Wilson Street junction in Dundee, the R33 joins the R68 and they are one road eastwards for 5 kilometres before the R33 becomes its own road north-east, leaving the R68 as the easterly road. The R68 proceeds eastwards for 45 kilometres to the town of Nqutu, where it makes a right turn at the junction with the P45. The R68 continues east-south-east for 108 kilometres, through Babanango Babanango is a small town located about 58 kilometers north-west of Melmoth in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. The R34 is a long provincial route in South Africa that connects Vryburg with Richards Bay via Kroonstad and Newcastle. It passes through three provinces, North West, the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal. Route North West The R34 begins a few kilometres east of the town of Vryburg, North West at a t-junction with the N14 National Route, which is the main road into the town. The R34 starts by going south-east for 60 kilometres to the town of Schweizer-Reneke. In the town centre, it meets the R506 Road and the R504 Route at a 4-way junction with Schweizer Street. Black Umfolozi River
The Black Umfolozi River ( zu, Imfolozi emnyama) is one of the two main tributaries to the Umfolozi River in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. It forms part of the Upper Umfolozi (Zulu: Enhla neMfolozi) – the Lower Umfolozi being the area downstream of its confluence with the White Umfolozi. Etymology The river is called "black" because of the dark (black) stones which are found along its course. Imfolozi means "zig-zag", which reflects the pattern the river follows along its course. Course It flows through Swart-Mfolozi, Ceza, Nongoma and eventually has a confluence with the White Umfolozi near the southeastern boundary of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve to form the Umfolozi River. The R618 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Hlobane with St Lucia via Nongoma and Mtubatuba. Route Its north-western terminus is the R69 at Hlobane, a village between Vryheid and Louwsburg. It heads east-southeast to Nongoma, where it meets the R66, with which it is briefly co-signed, heading south. Leaving the R66, it heads east, then veers south, before traversing the Umfolozi Game Reserve in a southeasterly direction. Concurrency (road)
A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Where multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, it is often economically and practically advantageous for them all to be accommodated on a single physical roadway. Pongola River
The Phongolo River is a river in South Africa. It is a tributary of the Maputo River. It rises near Utrecht in northern KwaZulu-Natal, flows east through Pongolo, is dammed at Pongolapoort, and crosses the Ubombo Mountains; then it flows north towards Mozambique, joining the Maputo River.
