The R553 is a Regional Route in Gauteng, South Africa that connects Johannesburg with Vanderbijlpark via Lenasia and Sebokeng. It is known as the ''Golden Highway'' for much of its length. Route Its northern terminus is an interchange with the M1 in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg, Gauteng (southbound only). It heads south-west as the Golden Highway and forms an intersection with the M68 road (Columbine Avenue) in Southgate, west of Southgate Shopping Centre and east of Soweto, before meeting the western terminus of the M38 road. Continuing south-west, it forms an interchange with the N1 Highway (which is co-signed with the N12). The R553 is parallel to the N1 from here for most of its length. The R28 is a provincial route in Gauteng, South Africa that connects Krugersdorp with Vereeniging via Randfontein. The R28 used to connect with Pretoria, but that section of the road is now part of the N14. Route The R28 begins at a 4-way intersection with the N14 national route and the M47 Metropolitan Route north-east of Krugersdorp, Mogale City Local Municipality (at Cradlestone Mall; midway between Krugersdorp and Muldersdrift) (north-west of Roodepoort). The R554 is a Regional Route in Gauteng, South Africa. The road connects the southern suburbs of Soweto with Springs on the East Rand via Lenasia, Alberton and Brakpan. Route Its western terminus is an interchange with the M68 and the N12 Moroka Bypass, just south of Soweto, Gauteng (south of Protea Glen), as Abu Baker Asvat Drive. The route initially runs south, to Lenasia and then turns east in the town centre. It intersects with the R553 and passes over the N1 east of Lenasia. At a four-way intersection north of Walkerville, the eastbound road becomes the R550.
