Rục People
The Rục people are a sub-ethnic group within the Chut people. At the end of 1959, Ca Xeng border guards encountered Rục people living in caves in western Quảng Bình province during a patrol. After months of approaching them, the border guards finally managed to persuade them to leave the caves and settle in Ruc Lan Valley, Thuong Hoa Commune. In 2013, after over 50 years of merging with this community, the Ruc were included on the list of the 10 least-known tribes of the world. Since then, as of 2006, the government has made many attempts to relocate them (at least 93 households, 414 people). They conduct shamanistic rituals that are said to allow them to control animals and to have caused harm to a person at one point. Thuong Hoa
Cháng () is the pinyin romanization of the Chinese surname (''Cháng''). It was listed 80th among the Song-era ''Hundred Family Surnames''. "Chang" is also the Wade-Giles romanization of two Chinese surnames written Zhang in pinyin: one extremely common and written in Traditional Chinese and in Simplified Chinese, and another quite rare and written as in both systems. Arem People
The Arem is a small, unreached, and endangered Vietic-speaking ethnic group of Vietnam and Lao PDR, native people of the mountains of Central Vietnamese province of Quảng Bình and neighboring Khammouan province of Laos. Their alternate autonyms are Umo, Chmbrau or Chmrau, which are Katuic expressions for "hunter-gatherers."Chamberlain, James R. (2018). Vietic Peoples
Vietic peoples refers to a group of ethnic groups of Southeast Asia. Geographic distribution The Vietic peoples are aboriginal to northern Vietnam, Laos and surrounding areas, mostly in northern Annamite mountains, although they can also be found in Thailand, Cambodia and China. Origin The proto-Vietic peoples are believed to have migrated by land from China to Laos and Vietnam through the Mekong, where they had settled for at least 4,500 years. Although there is no good estimate, paleolithic human sites around the modern Vietic villages in Laos and Nghe An are dated 2,500 to 2,000 BC, indicates that perhaps they were. They were parts of the larger proto-Austroasiatic peoples, who inhabited widely on neolithic mainland Southeast Asia.
