Rönnöfors
Rönnöfors is a locality in the historical province Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. Rönnöfors is situated in Krokom Municipality, 80 kilometres northwest of Östersund, the capital of Jämtland. Rönnöfors is situated in the north of Offerdal, near the Scandinavian Mountains. Some of the mountains are ''Oldklumpen'', ''Ansätten'', and ''Önrun''. The Sami people have inhabited this part of Offerdal for at least 1000 years, in particular the villages ''Jänsmässholmen'', ''Olden'', and ''Frankrike''. Offerdal
Offerdal is a parish (so called ''socken'') and former municipality (pop. 2,100) in Krokom Municipality, Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. The seat of the former municipality Offerdal, Änge, is situated 50 kilometres northwest of Östersund, the capital of Jämtland. Geography and culture Offerdal is a highland region with the highest peak being ''Makkene'', a peak in the ''Oldfjällen'' mountain range with an altitude of 1 266 meters above sea level. The south of Offerdal is a genuine agricultural area with a long history. In today’s Offerdal, farming is less important, but is still an important part of the local culture. Krokom Municipality
Krokom Municipality (, ) is a municipality in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Krokom. The present municipality was formed in 1974, when the former municipalities of Alsen, Föllinge, Offerdal and Rödön were amalgamated. The number of original local government entities in the area is nine, and amalgamations had also taken place in 1952 and 1969. The Scandinavian Mountains or the Scandes is a mountain range that runs through the Scandinavian Peninsula. The western sides of the mountains drop precipitously into the North Sea and Norwegian Sea, forming the fjords of Norway, whereas to the northeast they gradually curve towards Finland. Slate
Slate is a fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash through low-grade regional metamorphism. It is the finest grained foliated metamorphic rock. Foliation may not correspond to the original sedimentary layering, but instead is in planes perpendicular to the direction of metamorphic compression. The foliation in slate is called "slaty cleavage". It is caused by strong compression causing fine grained clay flakes to regrow in planes perpendicular to the compression.
