Ryuichi Sakamoto Discography
The Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto has released over 20 solo studio albums, more than 10 live albums, several compilation albums, over 40 EPs and singles, and about 48 soundtracks. Several of the albums exist in both Japanese and internationally released versions, sometimes containing different track listings. Sakamoto has also released many video albums and music videos. Yellow Magic Orchestra
Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO for short) is a Japanese electronic music band formed in Tokyo in 1978 by Haruomi Hosono (bass, keyboards, vocals), Yukihiro Takahashi (drums, lead vocals) and Ryuichi Sakamoto (keyboards, vocals). The group is considered influential and innovative in the field of popular electronic music. They were pioneers in their use of synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, drum machines, computers, and digital recording technology, and effectively anticipated the " electropop boom" of the 1980s. Alfa Records
, originally a publisher known as Alfa Music Ltd. and later succeeded by record company Alfa Music Inc., was established in 1969 by composer and record producer Kunihiko Murai. It was formed into an independent record label known as Alfa Records in 1977. A short-lived American subsidiary operated from 1980 to 1982. In geology, a rift is a linear zone where the lithosphere is being pulled apart and is an example of extensional tectonics. ''BTTB'' is a 1999 piano solo and duet album by Ryuichi Sakamoto. The album title is an acronym for "Back To The Basics". Two separate versions of the album were pressed, for Japanese and international markets. The International version opens with the three songs off of the ''ウラBTTB'' maxi single released in Japan as a promotional tool, while replacing a few pieces elsewhere in the album. The maxi single peaked at number four on the Japanese singles chart. ''1996'' is a 1996 album by Japanese composer and pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto. It contains a selection of Sakamoto's most popular compositions plus two new compositions, all arranged for a standard piano trio. The arrangement of "Bibo no Aozora" that appears on this album has appeared in several film and television projects; one notable example is the film '' Babel'', whose soundtrack features both the ''1996'' version and the ''/04'' version of the song.
