Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport , also known as Ryan Field, is a public use airport located four miles (7 km) north of the central business district of Baton Rouge, a city in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States. The airport was originally Harding Field during World War II and was used by the United States Army Air Forces Technical Service Command as a maintenance and supply base. Its uses also included training pilots to fly P-47 Thunderbolts. One of the Thunderbolt pilots trained at Harding was Quentin Aanenson, who survived the war, and in 2007 appeared in Ken Burns' '' The War'', a PBS film about World War II. Training was dangerous, ''The War'' noting that "Five members of Aanenson's group of 40 trainees died before they got a chance to go overseas". Many other aircraft were used at Harding, including P-40 Warhawks, P-39 Airacobras, A-36 Apaches, and B-26 Marauders. Ryan Airfield , also known as Ryan Field, is a city-owned, public-use airport located southwest of the central business district of Tucson, a city in Pima County, Arizona, United States. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a ''reliever airport''. It is mostly used for general aviation but also serves a significant amount of law enforcement and military helicopter activity. Approximately 50% of Ryan's traffic is training-related. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned RYN by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA (which assigned RYN to Royan - Médis Airport in Royan, France). Ryan Field (born August 12, 1977) is an American sportscaster who is currently a sports anchor on WABC-TV's Eyewitness News Weeknight and Saturday Morning Newscasts. He is a native of Troy, Michigan, and a graduate of Michigan State University. Career Field's television work began in 1996 as a sports intern at WILX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lansing. His broadcasting experience includes serving as a reporter and sports talk show host at WDBM Radio (88.9 FM) in East Lansing, where he was recognized for "Best College Radio Sportscast" in 1999 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Ryan Field had been a sports reporter at WJBK (Fox 2) in Detroit since August 2000 and provided sports updates on WDFN Radio (1130 AM). At WDFN, he was known for his signature emphasis on the word "guaranteed" during his newsbreaks.
