Russian Swing
A Russian swing is a large, floor-mounted Swing (seat), swing which is sometimes used in circus performances to make impressive high acrobatic jumps. Unlike ordinary playground swings, a Russian swing has steel bars instead of ropes, and its swinging platform is able to rotate 360 degrees around the horizontal bar from which it is suspended. Two or more acrobatics, acrobats stand on the swing platform, pumping it back and forth until it is swinging in high arcs. One acrobat (the flyer) then jumps upwards off the swing before it slows to a stationary speed at the peak of its arc. By jumping off the moving swing the flyer can increase their kinetic energy by more than the increase obtainable by jumping from the ground or other stationary surface. The flyer can achieve enough altitude to execute one of various aerial flips before landing at a distance from the swing. Luzia (Cirque Du Soleil)
''Luzia'' is a Cirque du Soleil show inspired by the richness of the Culture of Mexico, Mexican culture. The name ''Luzia'' fuses the sound of ''luz'' ("light" in Spanish) and ''lluvia'' ("rain"), two elements at the core of the show's creation. ''Luzia'' has a cast of 44 artists from 15 countries; it is Cirque du Soleil's 38th production since 1984, and its 17th show presented under the Big Top. Its creative team comprises 16 creators under the artistic guidance of director Daniele Finzi Pasca. Kiiking
Kiiking () is a sport which involves a person making a swing gain increasingly more momentum, to pass over the spindle with the longest shafts possible. It was invented in Estonia by Ado Kosk in 1993; in Estonian, ''kiik'' means a swing. In a kiiking swing, the swing arms are made of steel to enable a person to swing 360 degrees going over the fulcrum of the swing. A person is fastened to the swing base by their feet. To swing, the person begins to pump by squatting and standing up on the swing. The swing will gain momentum and will, by skillful pumping, take a person over the fulcrum. Russian Bar
The Russian bar (or Russian barre) is a circus act which combines the gymnastic skills of the balance beam, the rebound tempo skills of trampoline, and the swing handstand skills of the uneven bars and the parallel bars. The bar itself is a flexible vaulting pole around long, typically made of fiberglass; three vaulting poles may also be fastened together to create a flexible beam. The act involves two bases balancing the bar on their shoulders, and one flyer standing on the bar, with the flyer bouncing and performing aerial tricks and landing on the bar. This genre of circus act was first created by the Russian artist Alexander Moiseev, who brought his act twice to the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, winning the Gold and Silver Clown. ''Love'' was a 2006 theatrical production by Cirque du Soleil which combined the re-produced and re-imagined music of the Beatles with an interpretive, circus-based artistic and athletic stage performance. The show played at a specially built theatre at the Mirage in Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas. A joint venture between Cirque and the Beatles' Apple Corps, Apple Corps Ltd, it was the first theatrical production with which Apple Corps Ltd. partnered. Varekai
Varekai was a Cirque du Soleil touring production that premiered in Montréal in April 2002. Its title means "wherever" in the Romani language, and the show is an "acrobatic tribute to the nomadic soul". The show begins with the Greek myth of Icarus, picking up where the myth leaves off, reimagining the story of what happened to Icarus after he flew too close to the sun and fell from the sky.
