Russia Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Russia men's national field hockey team represents Russia in international field hockey competitions. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FIH banned Russia from the 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, and banned Russian and Belarusian officials from FIH events. In addition, the European Hockey Federation banned the participation of all Russian athletes and officials from all events sanctioned by the Federation. Tournament record Russia has never qualified for the World Cup or the Summer Olympics. They have competed four times in the EuroHockey Championship where their best result was the seventh place in 2011. Russian Field Hockey Federation (russian: Федерация хоккея на траве России), is the governing body for field hockey in Russia. The federation is a member of the European Hockey Federation. The federation was created in 1992, after the 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union, and took over field hockey in Russia from Federation of bandy and field hockey USSR. In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Hockey Federation banned Russia from the 2022 Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, and banned Russian officials from FIH events. 1991 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 1991 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the sixth edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held in Paris, France, from 12 to 23 June 1991. Germany won their third title by defeating the two-time defending champions the Netherlands 3–1 in the final. England won the bronze medal by defeating the Soviet Union 2–1 in penalty strokes after the match finished 1–1 after extra time. 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League
The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the inaugural season of the men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in August 2012 in Prague, Czech Republic and finished in January 2014 in New Delhi, India. The Semifinals of this competition also served as a qualifier for the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup as the 6 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualified. The Netherlands won the tournament's Final round for the first time after defeating New Zealand 7–2 in the final match. England won the third place match by defeating Australia 2–1. Hockey World League
The Men's FIH Hockey World League was an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation. The league also served as a qualifier for the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups and the 2016 Olympic Games. Three seasons were held in 2012–13, 2014–15 and 2016-17. It was replaced by the new Men's FIH Pro League and Hockey Series in 2018-19. Format The tournament featured four rounds. For each edition the FIH decides the number of events and teams for each round. The number of Round 1 events varied in each cycle depending on the number of participating national teams. Teams were grouped regionally, although European teams were split in several tournaments. The remaining rounds have teams selected with no regional restrictions. The 2023 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the nineteenth edition of the Men's EuroHockey Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. The tournament was held alongside the women's tournament from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the Warsteiner HockeyPark, in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The Netherlands, as the winner, qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics, while the other teams aside from Wales and France will have a second chance in the 2024 Men's FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers. The 2021 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 18th edition of the Men's EuroHockey Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. The tournament was held alongside the women's tournament at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands and was originally scheduled to take place from 20 to 29 August 2021. However, following the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to July and August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled and took place from 4 to 13 June 2021.
