The Russia men's national 3x3 team is the 3x3 basketball team representing Russia in international men's competitions, organized and run by the Russian Basketball Federation. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIBA banned Russian teams and officials from participating in FIBA 3x3 Basketball competitions. Russian Basketball Federation (russian: Российская Федерация Баскетбола, Rossiyskaya Federatsiya Basketbola), also known as RBF, is a national governing body of basketball in Russia. It was founded in 1991, and is the successor to the Soviet Basketball Federation. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIBA banned Russian teams and officials from participating in FIBA basketball and FIBA 3x3 Basketball competitions. In February 2022, Russia and Belarus were suspended from international competitions until further notice due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It also banned Russia from hosting any competitions. In addition, FIBA Europe mandated that no official basketball competitions are to be held in Russia, while the teams of the Russian Basketball Federation were withdrawn from national team competitions and from the club competition season 2022-23. 2021 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup
The 2021 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup was the sixth edition of the European 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. It was held between 10 and 12 September 2021 in Paris, France. Qualification The qualification events took place in 25-26 June in Tel Aviv, Israel and 26-27 June in Constanta, Romania, respectively. Twelve men's teams and 12 women's team qualified for the final tournament. In the men's, host France, 2019 champs Serbia, Russia and Slovenia have qualified based on ranking. In the women's, host and 2019 champs France, Russia, Netherlands and Romania are automatically through. The 2014 FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships, hosted at the University Square in Bucharest, Romania, was the inaugural European 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament was held from 5 to 7 September 2014. In the final of the men's tournament, host Romania beat Slovenia to win their first European championship title. The 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Championships, hosted by China, was an international 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament was run between 11 and 15 October 2016, in Guangzhou outside the Tianhe Sport Complex. It was co-organized by the FIBA. Host selection On May 10, 2015, FIBA announced the Guangzhou as host city of the 2016 tournament.
