''Rush'' is the first album by Australian singer Dean Geyer, released by Sony BMG in Australia on 28 May 2007 (see 2007 in music). The album "sums up everything that" Geyer has felt in the past year, he states "the process of creating, writing, recording and promoting has been a rush. But it's been such a joyous ride for me." ''Rush'' debuted in the top ten on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart making it his first top ten album. It also produced Geyer with his first top ten hit with "If You Don't Mean It" which spent twelve weeks in the top fifty. The album features a cover version of the Edwin McCain's song "I'll Be (Edwin McCain song), I'll Be", that Geyer also sang on ''Australian Idol''. Dean Geyer
Dean Stanley Geyer (born 20 March 1986) is a South African Australian singer-songwriter, actor and martial artist who finished third in the 2006 season of the talent show television series ''Australian Idol'', and has had a notable role in the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'' as Ty Harper. He joined the cast of the US show ''Glee'' in the 4th season as NYADA Junior Brody Weston and appeared in '' Terra Nova'' as Mark Reynolds. In 2021, Geyer also starred in Christmas in the Pines, where he met his wife Jillian Murray. Early life Geyer was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, as the oldest of three children. Greg Johnson (born 7 January 1968) is a New Zealand singer songwriter. Music career Johnson was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Starting out in school orchestras and choirs, Johnson quickly graduated to the early New Wave scene playing in bands from age 15 at many of the infamous live venues that scattered NZ and post punk years, including Mainstreet Cabaret, the Reverb Room, The Windsor Castle and The Esplanade Hotel. Andy Stochansky is a musician and songwriter from Toronto, living in Los Angeles. Early years Born and raised in Toronto, Stochansky began tinkering with the family piano at the age of five. To stop him from making music with anything he could get his hand on, his parents bought him a toy drum kit. By the time he was in his 20s, he had become a touring studio musician for Ani DiFranco. Matthew Gerrard is a Canadian record producer and songwriter. Biography Gerrard grew up in Don Mills, a suburb of Toronto's north-east end. He attended George S. Henry Secondary School where he played trombone in band, later playing bass in a school-based 5-piece jazz fusion combo called Nemesis Fusion. I'll Be (Edwin McCain Song)
"I'll Be" is a song written and performed by American singer Edwin McCain. The song was released on September 8, 1998, as the first single from his second album, ''Misguided Roses'' (1997). McCain recorded an acoustic version of the song for his follow-up album, ''Messenger''. The radio version of "I'll Be", which was released on a CD single with "Grind Me in the Gears" as the B-side, differs from the album version. Its opening melody is played with electric guitar (as opposed to acoustic on the album) and the vocal and saxophone lines differ. Upon its release, the song reached number five in the United States and number 52 in Canada.
