Hoot Gibson
Edmund Richard "Hoot" Gibson (August 6, 1892 – August 23, 1962) was an American rodeo champion, film actor, film director, and producer. While acting and stunt work began as a sideline to Gibson's focus on rodeo, he successfully transitioned from silent films to become a leading performer in Hollywood's growing cowboy film industry. During the period between World War I and World War II, he was second only to cowboy film legend Tom Mix as a box office draw. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Western Performers Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Early life Born Edmund Richard Gibson in Tekamah, Nebraska, he learned to ride a horse as a young boy. His family moved to California when he was seven years old. Virginia Brown Faire
Virginia Brown Faire (born Virginia Cecelia Labuna; June 26, 1904 – June 30, 1980) was an American silent film actress, appearing in dramatic films and, later, in sound westerns. Early years Virginia Cecelia Labuna was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Joseph Labuna and Martha Delsand. Other sources have her last name as La Buna. She attended Wadleigh High School for Girls. She was brought to Hollywood in 1919 after being one of the four winners of the ''Motion Picture Classic'' magazine's "Fame and Fortune" contest, which she had entered as Virginia Brown, using her stepfather's last name. Film Not long after she turned 15 years old that she presented herself at the Metro studio where she was almost immediately put on. Rhea Haines (October 2, 1894 – March 12, 1964) was a silent film actress from Indiana. Biography Haines was a leading lady for the film company of actor Hobart Bosworth. She played in films with Lillian Gish, Dorothy Gish, and Mack Sennett. In 1920 she appeared in ''Mary Ellen Comes to Town'' and '' Always Audacious'' for Paramount Pictures. The same year she performed in ''The Master Stroke'' for Vitagraph and ''Smiling All The Way'' for D.N. Schwab. In 1921 Haines made '' Uncharted Seas'' for Metro Pictures. In ''Mary Ellen Comes To Town'', she appeared with Dorothy Gish, Ralph Graves, and Charles Gerrard. The film was directed by Elmer Clifton. She was associated as an actress with both D.W. Griffith and the Fine Arts Theater. Haines stopped making motion pictures in the early 1920s. She was married to attorney Thomas Case.
