Run Run Run (band)
Run Run Run is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles. The quintet consists of Xander Smith (vocals, guitar), Nic Speck (bass), Doug Palmer (guitar), Francisco DeCun (drums) and Alek Speck (keyboards/ percussion). Rx3 is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Smith, who started the band after a trip out to Joshua Tree, CA in 2001 to make demos with Fred Drake at Rancho De La Luna (Earthlings, Queens of the Stone Age, Mark Lanegan). The resulting sound was abrasive indie rock mixed with late 1980s/1990s UK shoegaze and pop radio leaning vocal hooks. Their subsequent/official releases found Rx3 in the studio with producer Noah Shain as well as remixers and guest appearances by Z Trip, members of New Order, Bauhaus, Mumiy Troll and Madonna as well as mentor Steve Perry (ex-Journey frontman). After early roster changes, the band settled into its current line up in 2007. Rx3 has toured consistently since 2006 and has supported other acts such as The Strokes, Psychedelic Furs, Zomb ...

A Whole New Thing (Sly And The Family Stone Album)
''A Whole New Thing'' is the debut album by funk/soul band Sly and the Family Stone, released in 1967 on Epic/CBS Records. The album was released to mixed criticism and failed to make an impact from a commercial standpoint and did not chart. CBS Records executive Clive Davis prevailed upon band leader Sly Stone to create a more commercial album; the result was the album '' Dance to the Music''. Unlike later Sly and the Family Stone albums, ''A Whole New Thing'' was recorded live in the studio instead of being overdubbed and featured less of a pop feel than later releases such as ''Dance to the Music'' and ''Stand!''. The lead vocals are shared between Sly Stone, Freddie Stone, and Larry Graham; Rose Stone would not join the band until they began work on ''Dance to the Music.'' Track listing All tracks written by Sylvester Stewart, and produced and arranged by Sly Stone for Stone Flower Productions. Side one #"Underdog" â€“ 3:59 #"If This Room Could Talk" â€“ 3:00 ...

The members of the band were Gus Dewey (guitar), Tom Klugherz (bass), Dale Menten (guitar/vocals), and Bruce Waterston (drums). The group was known as The Jesters, until they changed their name concurrent with the release of their first single. They are primarily known for their chart hit, "Run, Run, Run", from the fall of 1964. "Run, Run, Run" has been favorably cited by some rock historians as containing a Beatle-esque, British Invasion sound, with crisp guitar playing and a quick beat. The song came about in 1963 when Dale Menten decided to write original material for the band. In 1964, the band recorded a demo of the song to present it to a DJ on KTOE radio. The DJ favored the recording and it made it to Jim Madison, who recorded the song, along with three other tracks, with the band. On August 24, 1964, the band had a session at Kay Bank Recording in Minneapolis. Two weeks later they re-recorded "Run, ...

''A Quick One'' is the second studio album by the English rock band the Who, released on 9 December 1966. A version of the album with an altered track listing was released under the name ''Happy Jack'' on Decca Records in April 1967 in the United States, where the song " Happy Jack" was a top 40 hit. Unlike other albums by the Who, where guitarist Pete Townshend was the primary or sole songwriter, ''A Quick One'' features significant songwriting contributions from all band members, with singer Roger Daltrey contributing one song, bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon each contributing two. The album also included a cover of the Holland–Dozier–Holland song "Heat Wave" and ends with a musical suite titled " A Quick One, While He's Away", which served as an inspiration for later rock operas that the Who would become known for. Composition and production The Who's second studio album departs from the R&B emphasis of the first. Part of the marketing push for the album wa ...

Run, Run, Run (The Supremes Song)
"Run, Run, Run" is a 1964 song written by Holland–Dozier–Holland and released as a single by Motown singing group The Supremes. After a couple of years of unsuccessful singles, the Supremes had finally broken through with a Top 40 single (23) in December 1963 with "When the Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes". On the heels of its release, Motown rush-released a second HDH single titled "Run, Run, Run". Inspired by the sounds of Phil Spector and his Wall of Sound, it was an attempt to give the Supremes a poppier sound compared to their earlier heavy R&B recordings. ''Billboard'' described the song as a "strong follow up" to "When the Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes," stating that it "has tough beat in a middle up groove that's great for dancing." ''Cash Box'' described it as "a pulsating, big sounding rocker with some torrid triplet keyboard work backing up." The single peaked at number 93 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number 22 on the Cash Box R&B chart. ...

Bodyparts (album)
''Bodyparts'' is the third studio album by Canadian electronic music band Dragonette, self-released on September 22, 2012 by Dragonette, Inc.. The album was nominated for Dance Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2013. Background and recording Recording sessions took place in London, England; Kinmount, Canada; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lead singer Martina Sorbara listened to a Phoebe Snow album the entire period the band was making the album. She stated, "I find that when we're writing I think I'm more inspired by hearing something that's really different from our sound and then thinking about how that would work in conjunction with what we do. Like hearing an old 70s smooth music track and thinking, 'what would happen if we tried incorporating this into an electropop track?' But really there's not a clear line to what we do." The band decided to name the album ''Bodyparts'' because it often mentions body parts in the lyrics. Dragonette announced the title on June 21, ...
