Rugby Sevens At The 2018 Commonwealth Games
Rugby sevens at the 2018 Commonwealth Games was held on the Gold Coast, Australia from April 13 to 15. The rugby sevens competition was held at Robina Stadium. This is the sixth time that the men's competition was held, following rugby sevens's debut at the 1998 Games, with women's rugby sevens making its debut. A total of sixteen men's and eight women's teams are scheduled to compete (312 athletes, at 12 per team plus one traveling reserve) in each respective tournament. Competition schedule The following is the competition schedule for the Rugby sevens competitions: Medal table Medalists Qualification A total of sixteen men's teams and eight women's team will qualify to compete at the games. Robina Stadium
Robina Stadium, also known by its sponsored name Cbus Super Stadium, is a rectangular football stadium in the Gold Coast suburb of Robina, Queensland. The main usage is as the home ground to the National Rugby League's Gold Coast Titans; this venue sometimes hosts the A-League team Brisbane Roar FC. Robina Stadium is also used for Rugby Union, Soccer, Rugby Sevens, Rugby league Test Matches and has hosted Rugby league World Cup matches. Construction of the venue started in 2006, and finished in February 2008, in time for the 2008 National Rugby League season, when it became the new home of the Titans. Jasa Veremalua (born 29 May 1988) is a Fijian rugby union player who plays for the Tel Aviv Heat. He played for San Diego Legion in Major League Rugby (MLR). He also plays for the Fiji sevens team. Veremalua made his debut for at the 2013 Wellington Sevens. He is from Korotogo Village in the Nadroga Navosa Province. Sione Molia (born 5 September 1993) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He made his debut for the New Zealand sevens team at the 2016 USA Sevens. He scored two tries at the 2016 Canada Sevens in New Zealand's semi-final match against Australia to help them into the finals.
