RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under (season 1)
The first season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under'' began airing on 1 May and concluded on 19 June 2021. Ten Australian and New Zealand-based drag queens competed for the title of the "Down Under's first Drag Superstar", a one-year supply of Revolution Beauty Cosmetics, and a cash prize of $30,000. The winner of the first season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under'' was Kita Mean, with Art Simone, Karen from Finance and Scarlet Adams as runners-up. Production Initially announced as a solely Australian version in 2019, production was moved to New Zealand due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. Filmed in Auckland, the series features drag queens from both Australia and New Zealand competing to be "Down Under's first Drag Superstar". Nick Kennedy-Hall (born 10 July 1989), better known by the stage name Anita Wigl'it, is a British and New Zealand drag performer best known for hosting ''House of Drag'' from 2018 to 2020, and competing on the first season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under'' in 2021. She competed in '' Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World'' in 2022. Early life Kennedy-Hall was born in Yeovil, England and moved to Auckland at age 10. "Tragedy" is a song released by the Bee Gees, written by Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb, included on their 1979 album ''Spirits Having Flown''. Maxi Shield is the stage name of Kristopher Elliot, an Australian drag performer who competed on the first season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under''. Career Maxi Shield performed at the 2000 Olympic Games closing ceremony and opened the Gay Games in 2002. She competed on the first season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under''.
