Sea Forest Waterway
The is a regatta venue for rowing (sport), rowing and canoeing, situated in Kōtō and Ōta, Tokyo, Ōta, Tokyo Bay, in Japan. History The venue was built for the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics, Paralympic Games. Construction began in 2016 and it was inaugurated in June 2019. It was built by Tokyo Metropolitan Government on the waterfront site and is the only rowing venue in Japan that meets international standards. The first international event that was held here were the 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships. Rowing at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Olympic rowing events are held from 23 to 30 July 2021. The hopes to be able to continue to maintain it after the Olympics. In January 2021, it was reported that oysters were attaching themselves to the floats used to suppress waves in the venue, resulting in 140 million yen (US$1.3 million) in costs to remove them. Kathryn Ross (rower)
Kathryn Ross (born 25 June 1981) is an Australian Paralympic rower. She is a four-time world champion who has participated at four Paralympics from 2008 to 2020, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. She set a world's best time in the PR2 1X event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. Personal Ross' leg became disfigured after her father accidentally ran over her with a ride-on lawn mower on the family farm in Warrnambool when she was two. Both her right knee and ankle joints are fused together. In 2021, she worked as a nurse in the Canberra Hospital emergency department. Simon Albury
Simon Albury (born 9 May 1982) is an Australian Paralympic rower. He partnered Kathryn Ross at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Personal Albury was born on 9 May 1982. He was born and grew up in Brisbane, Queensland. In December 2019, he had a work place accident where he fell into a hay bailing machine and lost both his legs. He is married to Melissa and they have four children - Austin, Riley, Layla and Connor. He lives in Adelaide, South Australia. Rowing Albury took up rowing after the accident as a form of exercise. He rows from the Torrens Rowing Club on Adelaide. He won the PR2 Men's Single Scull PR2 at the 2021 Australian Championships. He has been selected to row at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics i.
