Eton Dorney
Dorney Lake (also known as Eton College Rowing Centre, and as Eton Dorney as a 2012 Summer Olympics venue) is a purpose-built rowing lake in England. It is near the village of Dorney, Buckinghamshire, and is around 3 km (2 miles) west of Windsor and Eton, close to the River Thames. The lake is privately owned and financed by Eton College, which spent £17 million developing it. Additional grants, totalling £500,000, were obtained from Sport England, UK Sport, the DCMS and SEEDA in order to build the lake's finish tower. The project was completed in 2006, after 10 years of construction. Although it is primarily for use by the school, the facilities are hired out for rowing, as well as for canoeing, dragon boating, open water swimming and triathlon. 2012 Olympic venue The lake was used as the 2012 Summer Olympic venue for rowing and canoe sprint, and as the 2012 Summer Paralympic venue for rowing. Olena Buryak ( uk, Олена Буряк; born 8 February 1988 in Mykolaiv) is a Ukrainian rower. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's double sculls with Hanna Kravchenko. She was part of the Ukrainian women's quadruple sculls team, with Daryna Verkhohliad, Anastasiia Kozhenkova and Yevheniya Nimchenko, at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The team finished 4th. Tina Manker
Tina Manker (born 3 March 1989) is a German rower. She was junior world champion in 2006 (junior quad scull), U23 world championship (double scull), and world champion in the women's quad sculls elite class at the 2011 World Championships. She finished her rowing career after participating at the 2012 Summer Olympics in double scull. She trained as a teacher in German and English, first at the Humboldt University of Berlin and then at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. After several years teaching at Onslow College, where she also coached the rowing team, she now works for High Performance Sport New Zealand in Cambridge. Lenka Antošová (born 27 September 1991) is a Czech rower from Děčín. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she competed in the women's double sculls with her sister Jitka as rowing partner. Elisabeth Wilhelmina "Ellen" Hogerwerf (born 10 February 1989) is a Dutch rower. She is a three time Olympian and an Olympic silver medalist in the coxless four at Tokyo 2020.
