Václav Kozák
Václav Kozák (14 April 1937 – 15 March 2004) was a Czech rower who competed for Czechoslovakia at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics. In 1960, he won the gold medal in double sculls together with Pavel Schmidt. In 1964 and 1968 he placed 12th and 9th in the single sculls, respectively. At the European championships Kozák won four medals in various events between 1959 and 1965, including a gold in single sculls in 1963. The same year he was named Czechoslovak athlete of the year. Kozák started as a cyclist, and changed to rowing in 1952 motivated by the gold medal of the Czech coxed fours at the 1952 Olympics. In 1955 he won a national junior title in single skulls, and in 1957 won his first national senior title; he later added 14 more in various disciplines. After retiring from competitions he worked as a rowing coach at the Dukla club in Prague, raising several world championship and Olympic medalists. George Justicz
George C. Justicz (born 27 February 1931) is a former rower who competed for Great Britain in the 1960 Olympic games and won Double Sculls Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta four times and the Wingfield Sculls. Biography Justicz was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. His family came to England and he became a member of Birmingham Rowing Club where he was captain in 1959 and 1960. He competed in the Diamond Challenge Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta in 1958. In 1959, partnering Nicholas Birkmyre, he was runner up at the Double Sculls Challenge Cup at Henley. In 1960 the pair won the Double Sculls Challenge Cup and went on to compete in the double sculls event at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Nicholas John Birkmyre (born 21 February 1937) is a former rower who competed for Great Britain in the 1960 Olympic games and won Double Sculls Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta four times. Biography Birkmyre was born at Cranleigh, Surrey, and was educated at Radley College. He became a member of Bristol Ariel Rowing Club. Kevyn Webb
Kevyn Parke Webb (21 March 1924 – 5 November 1990) was an Australian representative rower. He competed in the men's double sculls event at the 1960 Summer Olympics and won a medal at the 1958 Commonwealth Games. He was a longstanding contributor to the sport in Australia and in 1962 was instrumental in the foundation of annual Australian Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing Webb had a long association with the Haberfield Rowing Club. He competed for the club from 1938 to 1960 and then coached. He held a number of official positions including Captain, President and Patron. Ian Tutty
Ian Tutty (born 7 March 1937) is an Australian rower. He competed in the men's double sculls event at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Rowing career The son of a motor mechanic, Tutty was raised in the inner-western suburbs of Sydney. He rowed from the Haberfield Rowing Club. At the 1960 Australian Interstate Championships rowed in Launceston he was New South Wales' single sculls entrant and won his event - the President's Cup. Tutty was selected with Kevyn Webb to race a double scull at the 1960 Rome Olympics. They were the sixth priority boat chosen by the Olympic selectors and had to fund their own travel to Rome.
