Route Nationale 21
The Route nationale 21 (N21) is a trunk road ( nationale) in south west France. Reclassification The N21 used to end at Gavarnie in the Pyrenees but after 1972 ended at Argelès-Gazost the old road is now the D921. Since 2006 the section south of Lourdes which is partly dual carriageway has been maintained by the Department Hautes-Pyrenees. Route Limoges - Bergerac - Agen - Lourdes - Argelès-Gazost Limoges to Bergerac (0 to 145 km) The road starts at a junction with the N20 and heads west along the bank of the river Vienne which it crosses at Aixe-sur-Vienne. The road turns south west over open countryside to the small town of Châlus. The road passes through the ''Parc Regional Limousin'' reaching 350m altitude. A ''route nationale'', or simply ''nationale'', is a class of trunk road in France. They are important roads of national significance which cross broad portions of the French territory, in contrast to departmental or communal roads which serve more limited local areas. Their use is free, except when crossing certain structures subject to a toll. They are open to all vehicles, except on certain sections having motorway ('' autoroute'') or express road (''voie express'') status, both of these categories being reserved for motorized vehicles only. France at one time had some 30,500 km of ''routes nationales'' and publicly owned motorways, but this figure has decreased with the transfer of the responsibility for many routes to the '' départements'' so that by 2010 the total length of motorways and other national roads was around 21,100 km. A64 Autoroute
The A64 autoroute is a motorway in southwestern France. It is also called the ''La Pyrénéenne'' and numbered the European route E80. It is a toll road for part of its length. Aligned East-West, it connects Toulouse to Bayonne via Tarbes and Pau. Its length is approximately 287 km with 2x2 lanes and 2x3 lanes towards Toulouse. It is operated by ASF. Tarbes (; Gascon: ''Tarba'') is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region of southwestern France. It is the capital of Bigorre and of the Hautes-Pyrénées. A62 Autoroute
The A62 autoroute is a French motorway forming part of the ''Autoroute de Deux Mers'' (Two Seas Motorway). The entirety of the route forms the entirety of European route E 72, which is a part of the International E-road network, inter-European road system. The route of the A62 / E72 is between the cities of Bordeaux and Toulouse. The E72 was previously called E76 in 1975. The road is the western portion of the Autoroute de Deux Mers connecting Toulouse (as an extension of the A61 autoroute, A61) with Bordeaux with a junction with the A630 autoroute, A630. Prune
A prune is a dried plum, most commonly from the European plum (''Prunus domestica''). Not all plum species or varieties can be dried into prunes. A prune is the firm-fleshed fruit (plum) of ''Prunus domestica'' varieties that have a high soluble solids content, and does not ferment during drying. Use of the term "prune" for fresh plums is obsolete except when applied to varieties of plum grown for drying. Most prunes are ''freestone'' cultivars (the pit is easy to remove), whereas most plums grown for fresh consumption are ''clingstone'' (the pit is more difficult to remove). A89 Autoroute
The A89 autoroute is an autoroute in central France. It is known as the ''La Transeuropéenne''. It connects Bordeaux (from Libourne) and Lyon (at Limonest) via Clermont-Ferrand. Its total length is 544 km (338 mi). The project started in 1991 and was completed in 2018. It is composed of a new road construction and the re-use of a large part of the A72 built in the 1980s.
