Rotterdam–The Hague Metropolitan Area
The Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area ( nl, Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag) is a metropolitan area encompassing the cities of Rotterdam and The Hague as well as 21 other municipalities. It was founded in 2014. The area has a population of approximately 2.7 million across . It is the largest European port, with many international organizations residing within its borders. The area is also part of the larger urban area called Randstad. Air traffic is supported by Rotterdam-The Hague Airport offering services to a number of European cities, however the majority of air travelers use Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which is about 45 kilometers from The Hague. RandstadRail offers light rail public transport in the area and also Rotterdam metro, The Hague tram, Rotterdam tram and the frequent trains of the Dutch railways are popular modes for public transportation within the region. Conurbation
A conurbation is a region comprising a number of metropolises, cities, large towns, and other urban areas which through population growth and physical expansion, have merged to form one continuous urban or industrially developed area. In most cases, a conurbation is a polycentric urbanised area in which transportation has developed to link areas. They create a single urban labour market or travel to work area. The Rotterdam tramway network ( nl, Rotterdams tramnet) is a key element of the overall public transport arrangements in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Hellevoetsluis () is a small city and municipality in the western Netherlands. It is located in Voorne-Putten, South Holland. Pijnacker-Nootdorp () is a municipality in the Randstad conurbation in the Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of of which is water. Lansingerland
Lansingerland is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It was formed on 1 January 2007, by the merger of the municipalities of Berkel en Rodenrijs, Bleiswijk and Bergschenhoek, collectively known as the "B-Triangle". The former municipality of Tempel, abolished in 1855, is also part of Lansingerland. Capelle aan den IJssel (; en, Capelle on the IJssel) is a small city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Vlaardingen () is a city in South Holland in the Netherlands. It is located on the north bank of the Nieuwe Maas river at the confluence with the Oude Maas.
