Carlo Alberto Rosselli (Rome, 16 November 1899Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, 9 June 1937) was an Italian political leader, journalist, historian, philosopher and anti-fascist activist, first in Italy and then abroad. He developed a theory of reformist, non- Marxist socialism inspired by the British Labour movement that he described as "liberal socialism". Rosselli founded the anti-fascist militant movement ''Giustizia e Libertà''. Cosimo Rosselli
Cosimo Rosselli (; 1439–1507) was an Italian painter of the Quattrocento, active mainly in his birthplace of Florence, but also in Pisa earlier in his career and in 1481–82 in the Sistine Chapel in Rome, where he painted some of the large frescoes on the side walls. Though generally regarded as a lesser talent in comparison to Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino, and Domenico Ghirlandaio, who were all also active at the Sistine Chapel, Rosselli was still able to win large and important commission throughout his career, a testament to his high level of activity in his native Florence. Important local commissions include a fresco in the cloister of Santissima Annunziata, Florence and those in the Chapel of the Holy Blood in Sant'Ambrogio, Florence. He was described as a cartographer, although his contribution did not include any primary research and was probably limited to engraving, decorating and selling manuscript maps created by others. He created many maps, including one of the first printed maps of the world to incorporate the discoveries of Christopher Columbus in the Americas. The attribution of prints to him is the subject of debate, as different engraving styles are used. The Rosselli Del Turco are an historic noble family from Florence, Italy. Their origins date to the union of the Rosselli family and the Del Turco family in 1727. Sabatino Enrico 'Nello' Rosselli (Rome, 29 November 1900 – Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, 9 June 1937) was an Italian Socialist leader and historian. Biography Rosselli was born in Rome to a prominent Jewish family. His parents were Giuseppe Emanuele "Joe" Rosselli (1867 - 1911) and Amelia Pincherle (1870 - 1954), who was the paternal aunt to writer Alberto Moravia. Nello was the youngest of three sons, the others being Aldo Sabatino (1895 - 1916), died in World War I and Carlo Alberto (1899–1937). Nello was a member of the reformist Unitary Socialist Party of Filippo Turati, Giacomo Matteotti and Claudio Treves, which had split from the PSI. Amelia Rosselli (28 March 1930 – 11 February 1996) was an Italian poet. She was the daughter of Marion Catherine Cave, an English political activist, and Carlo Rosselli, who was a hero of the Italian anti-Fascist Resistance—founder, with his brother Nello, of the liberal socialist movement " Justice and Liberty." He and his brother were assassinated by La Cagoule, secret services of the Fascist regime, while the extended family was living in exile in France in 1937. The family then moved between England and the United States, where Rosselli was educated. Lou Rosselli (born July 13, 1970) is an American former wrestler. He competed in the men's freestyle 52 kg at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Since 2016, he has been the head wrestling coach at the University of Oklahoma. Before his time with the Sooners, Rosselli was an associate head coach at Ohio State University. Wrestling career Rosselli attended Royalton-Hartland High School in Middleport, New York, where he was a four-time state qualifier and two-time NYSPHSAA champion. In 1986 he won the title in the 96 pound weight class, two years later he won his second title at 112 pounds. After 5 years of varsity wrestling, Rosselli continued his career at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he saw continued success. Amelia Pincherle Rosselli
Amelia Pincherle Rosselli (16 January 1870 – 26 December 1954) was an Italian writer. The daughter of Giacomo Pincherle Moravia and Emilia Capon, she was born Amelia Pincherle Moravia in Venice. Her family were wealthy non-practising Jews. Her nephew Alberto Moravia was also a writer. She married Giuseppe Emanuele "Joe" Rosselli (1867–1911) in 1892. The couple had three sons; her sons Carlo and Nello became an anti-fascist activists. The couple moved to Vienna where her husband continued his studies in music. Her play ''Anima'', staged in Turin in 1898, won a literary prize. The family moved to Rome and then Florence. The couple separated in 1903. Her son Aldo was killed during World War I. Sal Rosselli (born 1949, New York City) is president of the National Union of Healthcare Workers. He was the president of SEIU United Healthcare Workers West until 2009, when the local union was placed into trusteeship by its parent union, SEIU.
