Rosa Le Seur
Rosa Le Seur, married name ''Rosa Junkermann'', (1846 – 1920) was a German stage actress and soprano. Life Born in Berlin, Le Seur received her singing lessons from the well-known song composer Ferdinand Gumbert. She worked as the first soubrette and from 1866 was engaged at the Berlin Viktoriatheater, at the court theatre in Meiningen, as well as in Bremen, Nuremberg, Amsterdam, Stuttgart and Breslau, and her most popular roles included ''Die schöne Galathée'', '' La belle Hélène'', Boulotte in '' Barbe-bleue)'', '' La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein'', Kleine Handschumacherin in '' La Vie parisienne'' etc., thus in operettas by Jacques Offenbach. Paul List (21 August 1869 – 30 April 1929) was a German publisher. August Junkermann
August Junkermann (15 December 1832 – 15 May 1915) was a German actor and, as a narrator, an important interpreter of Fritz Reuter's works. Life and work Born in Bielefeld, Junkermann joined the Royal Prussian Artillery Regiment in Cologne at the age of 17 as an officer's aspirant. After successes in amateur performances in front of the officer corps, he received his first engagement at the Theater Trier in 1853. Performances as a singer and comedian followed on many stages in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From 1871 to 1887 Junkermann belonged to the ensemble of the Staatstheater Stuttgart. Junkermann had already occupied himself with the works of Fritz Reuter at an early age. He brought the works of the humourist closer to his audience not only through recitation but also by portraying Reuter's characters on stage. His parade role was that of "Uncle Bräsig". Ferdinand Gumbert
Ferdinand Gumbert (22 April 1818 – 6 April 1896) was a German composer, singing teacher and music critic. Initially a singing teacher, he began a stage career as a baritone in 1839. Life Gumbert was born in Berlin (Kingdom of Prussia). After an engagement of several years at the Cologne City Theatre (1840–42), he resigned from the stage on the advice of the ''Kapellmeister'' Conradin Kreutzer in favour of composition. In addition to his activities as a singing teacher and song composer, he worked from 1881 as a music consultant for the ''Tägliche Rundschau (1881-1933), Tägliche Rundschau'', as well as for the ''Neue Berliner Musikzeitung'' in Berlin. Jacques Offenbach
