A roommate is a person with whom one shares a living facility such as a room or dormitory ''except'' when being family or romantically involved. Similar terms include dormmate, suitemate, housemate, or flatmate ("flat": the usual term in British English for an apartment). Flatmate is the term most commonly used in New Zealand, when referring to the rental of an unshared room within any type of dwelling. Another similar term is sharemate (shared living spaces are often called ''sharehouses'' in Australia and other Commonwealth countries). A sharehome is a model of household in which a group of usually unrelated people reside together. The term generally applies to people living together in rental properties rather than in properties in which any resident is an owner occupier. I, Roommate
"I, Roommate" is the third episode of season one of '' Futurama''. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on April 6, 1999. The episode was written by Eric Horsted and directed by Bret Haaland. The plot focuses on Fry and Bender's search for an apartment after deciding to become roommates and the various difficulties they have in finding a place that is acceptable to both of them. Plot Fry has been living in the Planet Express offices, making messes, leaving food out (which attracts owls, the vermin of New New York), wasting water, and generally disrupting business. When it is discovered, however, that Fry has eaten the professor's alien mummy (mistaking it for beef jerky) which the professor was going to eat himself, he declares that Fry has to go. ''Roommate'' ( ko, 룸메이트) is a South Korean reality show; formerly part of SBS's ''Good Sunday'' lineup. It was first scheduled to be aired on April 20, 2014, but due to the Sewol ferry tragedy and the temporary broadcast halt, the airing date was pushed to May 4, 2014. The show features eleven celebrities living together in a ''share house'' located in the Seongbuk-dong area of Seoul, sharing common spaces such as the kitchen, living room, and washrooms, as well as household tasks. Roommate is a band from Chicago, IL. History Roommate began as a solo music project of Kent Lambert in 2000. He had just moved from Iowa City to Brooklyn and started recording music in his apartment. In 2001, he relocated to Chicago and self-released the ''Celebs'' EP. In 2004, Roommate re-emerged as a live band. Work on the full-length ''Songs the Animals Taught Us'' began soon thereafter, and the album was self-released in the summer of 2005. A wide release on the Plug Research label followed in the spring of 2006 and was supported with a European tour and a few shows around the United States. Production on the ''New Steam'' EP began in late 2006 and the band recorded steadily through the completion of its second full-length album.
