Ron Fournier (radio Personality)
Ronald Fournier (born August 3, 1949) is a Quebec-born radio host and sport journalist. He is also a retired professional hockey referee. Early life Fournier was raised in Montreal. In his youth he played baseball with teammates Maurice Jr. and Normand Richard ( Maurice Richard's sons) with the Braves d’Ahuntsic. When winter came, he switched to a goalie outfit with which he would be drafted with the Drummondville Rangers in the beginnings of the LHJMQ. He was never drafted by the National Hockey League but he had already thought of becoming a referee if he couldn't get in the league as a hockey player. At the age of 19, he called the city of Montreal and the day after he was scheduled to become a referee. La Soirée Du Hockey
''La Soirée du hockey'' (literally translated to ''The Night of Hockey'') was a Canadian ice hockey television show. It was the French language Radio-Canada equivalent of the English Canadian CBC show ''Hockey Night in Canada''. The show used "The Hockey Theme" as its theme song, like its English language counterpart. The show ran from 1952 to 2004. Games covered ''La Soirée du hockey'' most frequently featured Montreal Canadiens games on Saturday evenings, usually in parallel with English-language broadcasts on CBC. In later years, CBC would drop some of its split-national telecasts in the 7 p.m. ET window, resulting in a single national telecast at that time (most of the time featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs), while Radio-Canada continued to feature the Canadiens. Les Cowboys Fringants
Les Cowboys Fringants are a Quebec folk rock music group formed in 1995 in Repentigny, Quebec. The French word ''fringant'' can be translated as "dashing", or "frisky". They perform '' Québécois'' néo-trad music (modernized Quebec folk music with a rock flavour) and draw on country music. They have an international underground following, especially in France, French-speaking Belgium and Switzerland. Band members hail from the Montreal suburbs of Repentigny and L'Assomption. The entire band collaborates on the lyrics, although guitarist Jean-François Pauzé often contributes more than the others. The band are known for their live performances, captured on the ''Attache ta tuque!'' live album and the ''Centre Bell 30 décembre 2003'' DVD. Candiac, Quebec
Candiac is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in the Canadian province of Quebec; it is located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River opposite Montreal near La Prairie. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 21,047. History Candiac was created January 31, 1957, when the government of Quebec accepted the request of a Canadian-European investors group, the ''Candiac Development Corporation''. The investors had collected over $4.5 million and bought of land from farmers and the neighbouring towns. In its early days, Candiac was home to 320 people who mostly lived near the St. Lawrence River. Most of the inhabitants were either farmers or Montrealers who owned a second residence in Candiac. Don Cherry (ice Hockey)
Donald Stewart Cherry (born February 5, 1934) is a Canadian former ice hockey player, coach, and television commentator. Cherry played one game in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins, and later coached the team for five seasons after concluding a successful playing career in the American Hockey League, leading the team to four division titles and two appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals. From 1986 to 2019, Cherry co-hosted '' Coach's Corner''—a segment aired during CBC's Saturday-night NHL broadcast ''Hockey Night in Canada'', with Ron MacLean.
